As Dorset wedding photographers, we’re fortunate to witness love stories unfold in breathtaking settings. Our home county offers stunning countryside and coastal locations within UNESCO world heritage sites, areas of outstanding natural beauty and jaw dropping nature reserves. Eden and Tommys Cleavel Point wedding photographs were created a stones throw from our offices in Purbeck. Here every natural element perfectly combined to create a truly unforgettable experience.
You may remember Eden and Tommy as the fun-loving couple from their Autumnal engagement photographs at Crichel House Archway. Their love for all thing nature and Landrovers translated into their wedding day too.
Bridal Preparation Photos at Burnbake Forest Lodges
Eden and Tommy’s Cleavel Point wedding photographs began at Burnbake Forest Lodges in Purbeck, Dorset. Eden in one luxury lodge with the girls and Tommy in another with the chaps. We were a little nervous about their outdoor wedding as the weather forecast was incredibly variable
The bridesmaids surprised Eden with a scrapbook. It had photos and words detailing important moments of her life with Tommy. Tears flowed with the emotions.
A Wonderful Wedding Morning
In the living room, the wedding makeup artist Georgia utilised the natural light streaming in through the large French windows. They called in the girls one at a time to have their wedding faces applied.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, a family friend styled hair and jewelry was cleaned. All this took place under the watchful eyes of the family’s lovely dog, Millie.
The girls enjoyed moments of relaxation looking out over the greenery and wildlife of the forest. A bottle of blue (!) bubbly was opened outside. The lovely Dean from Sylvestris Wedding Films arrived to cover the day’s events.
As Eden’s makeup was expertly applied, two bridesmaids steamed the last creases out of her wedding dress. Even Eden’s father popped in for a little coverup!
After some toasts in the kitchen, Eden sat to have her hair styled as large bouquets of multicoloured wedding flowers from Edwards Flowers arrived.
Eden and Cameo, her sister disappeared upstairs to put on the wedding dress. She descended the stairs looking stunning if not a little nervous. With her veil in and the bridesmaids in their gorgeous blue dresses, we had a little time for group photos in the garden behind the lodge.
Outside the lodge, Eden’s father and groomsmen arrived in a classic Land Rover and a modern Range Rover. They were there to transport the girls to Cleavel Point.
Groom Preparation Photographs For A Cleavel Point Wedding
The land rovers aided in traveling to Cleavel Point. Cleavel Point is at the end of a promontory gently jutting out into Poole harbour is such a stunning location for a wedding.
Surrounded by Purbeck farmland and the shores of Poole harbour the views over Brownsea and the smaller islands. It is a great example of just what is possible in the Purbeck and has the feel of an untouched nature reserve with views to die for.
This wedding was absolutely a group affair, with a great deal of planning and DIY. For the last week Cleavel point field had been gradually transformed for the wedding day. A large sailcloth tent from Coastal Tents had been beautifully decorated with circular tables, trees, a bar, and a cake table. Outside a pool table, seating areas, bean bags, crazy golf, and other lawn games were set up. A ceremony space nearer to the water’s edge overlooking the harbour. We have to admire the talents of Emily Colle wedding co-ordinator extraordinare for stepping up to the plate a month before the big day.
The entire setup had been captured beautifully on a hand-drawn map by From Sally With Love, a reference to plan the Cleavel Point wedding photographs.
Final Preparations
The chaps triple-checked the details and decorations whilst transforming into dapper gentlemen with the aid of ties and suit jackets. Their next job was to welcome the arriving guests and organise the parking behind the wedding setup.
Kev from the Royal T’s wedding band entertained as guests arrived and seated themselves on the benches within the ceremony space. A last-minute application of buttonholes finished the preparation and the chaps lined up under threatening skies awaiting the girls’ arrival.
Cleavel Point Wedding Photographs – An Outdoor Ceremony
Eden and the girls arrived looking stunning, the wind blowing their hair and dresses like models from a fashion shoot. Wedding guests were treated to a wonderful heartfelt wedding ceremony. Officiated by a friend the happy couple exchanged vows in front of their nearest and dearest and were proclaimed husband and wife. They walked back up the aisle under a shower of confetti.
A Unique Drinks Reception Overlooking Poole Harbour
The weather gods were apparently in attendance and pleased by the union as the sun broke though and warmed everyone for the unique drinks reception.
Sailcloth Tent Wedding Breakfast In The Purbeck
Eden and Tommy were applauded into their wedding breakfast with a standing ovation from the guests. Not only was the room decorated with ivy, flowers, and white cherry blossom trees but also gorgeous sprays of multicoloured flowers.
Tears flowed and laughter echoed around the tent as the wedding speeches commenced. Eden’s mother was followed by the best men and eventually Tommy, who had everyone in fits.
A sumptuous three-course meal was then supplied by Sorrels Wedding Catering, bringing the raucous laughter down to a happy chatter. Tommy and Eden cut their gorgeous three-tier iced wedding cake by Tash From The Diamond Baker. Tash had even hand-painted a scene from Cleavel Point on the cake itself!
Evening Wedding Photographs At Cleavel Point In Dorset
Ever the entertainer Tommy had prepared a surprise for everyone in attendance. He had hand-crafted an ice cream bike and set off delivering ice creams to the surrounding guests accompanied by the appropriate music.
Time Out For Bride And Groom Couple Photographs
A photobooth from Lights Camera Hire was set up inside the tent and a contest started on the outside pool table. The Royal T’s sound checked and moved their setup to the outside dancefloor. We took Tommy and Eden for a walk through the field to the water’s edge for some quick couple photographs. By this point in the day, they really appreciated the excuse to spend some ‘alone time’ together. They relished in a quiet minute to take everything in and appreciate exactly what they had achieved.
Outdoor First Dance At Cleavel Point
As consummate entertainers, the Royal T’s kept the outdoor dancefloor rocking. The guests popped in and out of the sailcloth tent, topping up on mouthwatering cocktails from the bar supplied by The Rolling Bars.
The sun started to dip and Chicken & Blues and Dorset Pizza Kitchen opened their doors to provide the guests with the energy they had burnt off on the dancefloor. We lit the firepit and marshmallows were available for toasting.
Eden and Tommy took a stroll to watch the sunset over the harbour as the guests relaxed around the firepits.
Summing Up Eden & Tommy’s Cleavel Point Wedding Photographs
A truly wonderful wedding day that we were proud to capture for a truly wonderful couple.
