Country Courtyard Wedding
The sun was shining on this warm morning as we arrived in Kingston for this country courtyard wedding with Shelly and Colin. Having worked at Kingston country courtyard many times over the years it felt good being back at a place so close to our office with so many good memories.
Country Courtyard Wedding Groom Preparation
I met Colin and the guys at Brook Tea Rooms for mostly English breakfasts with some American pancakes too! We all returned to Shelly and Colin’s flat to get ready for the big day. The gents all looked extremely dapper in their black suits with black bow ties and classic crisp white shirts. Once they were all ‘wedding ready’ they headed off for Kingston Country Courtyard. The guys arrived in the Dorset sun shine and busied themselves greeting guests finalizing the final details for the outdoor wedding ceremony. The music cued up they ushered the guests to take their places. Colin and the groomsmen took theirs front and center.
Country Courtyard Wedding Bridal Preparation
Shelly and her bridesmaids were in in one of the luxurious rooms with views across the Purbeck countryside. Shelly sat on the end of her bed while the bridesmaids finished their breakfasts around her. The girls were assisted by Jody Flanders working her talents with the wedding make up. Wedding hair was expertly styled by Emma Hobart from salon @ 53 .The pink bridesmaids dresses hung in the window with the bright sunshine lighting them up.
As the girls became more and more excited Shelly showed little signs of breaking her cool relaxed mood. Soon the bridesmaids were dressed and it was time to help Shelly get into her dress. Shelly looked breathtaking.
Country Courtyard Wedding Outdoor Ceremony
With all of the guests gathered in the outdoor wedding ceremony space the flower girl emerged, dropping flower petals as she made her way down the aisle. Next came the four gorgeous bridesmaids and maid of honor. Shelly was escorted down the aisle by her father. Her stunning appearance and huge smile left Colin without a dry eye.
Under a cloudless sky Shelly’s father agreed to give her hand in marriage to Colin. After a reading delivered by a bridesmaid Shelly and Colin made their promises to each other and were married. A second reading was delivered in the glorious sunshine while guests fanned themselves with paper fans. The paper work completed the new Mr and Mrs came back down the aisle and were showered with confetti. (even a whole box!).
Everyone made their way around to Kingston Country Courtyard’s garden to enjoy a drinks reception looking out over the Purbeck countryside. Many stood in the shade of the trees out of the heat of the sun. Whilst drinks and the views were enjoyed The Forever Steel Drum Band played adding Caribbean party feel to the sunshine reception. After a number of group photos the guests merrily made their way into the barn for the wedding breakfast.
Country Courtyard Wedding Breakfast and Speeches
Once everyone was in place the new Mr and Mrs made their entrance to rapturous applause, with cheering and whistles! After they took their seats at the top table Shelly’s father kick off the speeches. He used props such as a childhood photo of Shelly and returned stag night shoes for Colin. Colin’s two brothers were next in a double act best man speech. This included instruction for a wedding wide selfie and finished with a song. Finally it was Colin’s turn, he did not let the side down. Words of thanks for everyone and some very witty banter with family and friends.
Country Courtyard Wedding Evening Entertainment
While the room was turned around for the evening we briefly took the happy couple away from their guests. We headed up the road to Kingston and along a well-known road for its uninterrupted view across the valley we had checked out the previous day. Here we were able to capture some amazing shots of the two off them in the countryside. The ever talented Ed from KE wedding films (one of our recommended Dorset wedding suppliers) did the same.
Almost before anyone had noticed we all returned to find most people enjoying the shade and sunshine in the garden or the bar and Magic Mirror Booth . All the single ladies were gathered as it was time for Shelly to throw her bouquet that done focus moved back to the barn for the cutting of the cake supplied by Sarah’s Cake Company .
Next on the order of day was the happy couple’s first dance. The choreographed number was performed before inviting the whooping guests to join and dance the night away.
After a wonderful wedding day like this we can’t wait for our next Dorset Courtyard wedding photographs.
