Purbeck Valley Farm Wedding Photos with Claire and Shaun
We began this day of Purbeck Valley Farm wedding photos with both Claire and Shaun at Purbeck Valley Farm. After our last farm wedding creating countryside wedding photos we could not wait. This stunning rural wedding venue is just down the road from our offices in The Isle of Purbeck countryside in Dorset. One of our last weddings of last season was photographed at Purbeck Valley farm wedding venue.

At the farmhouse, there was a hive of activity. Claire and her bridesmaids excitedly readied themselves for her Purbeck Valley Farm wedding. A peach colour bridesmaid’s dress hung on a door with two mint green ones on either side. Claire’s wedding dress hung from a roof beam with the bottom just touching the floor.
After hair and make-up were complete the girls got into their dresses. A final adjustment to Claire’s veil and she was ready. She exited the room to be greeted by her father who had been calmly waiting just outside.

Meanwhile, after saying a quick ‘good morning’ to Claire and her bridesmaids I headed down the track to find the gents. As I walked into the field I could see many people busily putting the final touches to the amazing sailcloth Marquee and the Boxpub with stretch tent. The tents had been positioned in such a way they faced out towards Corfe Castle across the Purbeck countryside.
Once they had finished their jobs Shaun and his groomsmen gathered in one of the tents to get ready. They wore dark blue trousers with brown shoes with dark grey waistcoats over crisp white shirts with gold ties. Shaun wore a slightly lighter grey jacket over his waistcoat. All suited and booted complete with yellow and pink rose buttonholes they made their way across the field.
Purbeck Valley Farm Wedding Ceremony Photos
At the same time the rear of the farmhouse the garden had been set for the ceremony. Shaun and his groomsmen were in place to greet guests and guide them to their seats. As the bridal party made their entrance Claire’s veil swept about in the wind. Her father then escorted her up the stone steps to her groom. Claire’s two sons (the ring bearers) remained atop the stairs under the pagoda stage left of the bride and groom. Two lovely readings were delivered to the guests on either side of this open-air wedding ceremony.
After Claire and Shaun made their promises to one another there was much merriment and applause. Members of the rowing club made a guard of honour with wooden oars as the newlyweds walked back down the aisle as newlyweds.

Most of the guests had made their way over to the marquee and Boxpub in the field. The bride and groom were ferried over by wedding tractor and trailer. They were welcomed into the field with more applause and cheering.
The Sailcloth tent was decorated with Chinese paper lanterns in greens and pinks on festoon lighting. After some group photos against the backdrop of Corfe Castle the guests were asked to take their places and prepare to welcome the newlyweds to the wedding breakfast.
James from the Salt Pig had cooked a spatchcocked pig and also some other delights in his own rustic open-air kitchen. The guests raised the roof as Claire and Shaun came into the tent and they made their way to their seats.
Purbeck Valley Farm Wedding Photos of Speeches and Evening Entertainment
First of all Claire’s father kicked things off with Claire holding the microphone and his wife helping to get the speech in order. He was followed by Shaun who thanked everybody for their efforts in making it such a special day. Shaun was finally followed by his two best men who succeeded in getting a few laughs from the guest at his expense.
After desserts and cheese wedding cake (supplied by Happily Ever Afters) was eaten. Next, it was time for the couple’s first dance as a married couple. Guests surrounded the dance floor eager to get a good spot. The new Mrs and Mrs owned the dance floor for a short time before they invited guests to join them.

Evening entertainment the MotherUkers performed covers and original material keeping the dance floor bouncing as the sun went down on this Purbeck Valley Farm wedding. As the light faded the translucent sailcloth tent glowed in the night sky. Revelers moved between the Sailcloth marquee and the Boxpub’s stretch tent.
With the gorgeous natural light and wide open spaces, we can not wait to produce stunning wedding photographs at another farm wedding in Purbeck, Dorset.
