A wedding day to remember in purbeck
Morgan and Andy’s Stunning Dorset Rural Wedding Photos
Morgan and Andy’s wedding was a celebration steeped in local charm and breathtaking scenery. Set in the heart of the Purbeck countryside, their special day reflected their deep connection to their community and the stunning landscapes that surround them. Let’s dive into the magical moments captured through their Dorset rural wedding photos.
Bridal preparation photographs
A Joyful Morning at a Doret Farmhouse
The day began at Morgan’s beautiful Purbeck stone farmhouse overlooking Corfe Valley. Despite a mixed weather forecast, the atmosphere was lively and relaxed as Morgan and her bridesmaids prepared for the day. The sun streamed through the kitchen windows.Upstairs Morgan’s simple yet elegant white wedding dress hung, complemented by deep green bridesmaids’ dresses that added a further touch of sophistication.
As the girls enjoyed each other’s company, Kirsten Seare, a talented makeup artist, worked her magic. Morgan received an emotional handwritten card from Andy, which brought a tear to her eye. Morgan had even buried a sausage in the garden as a good luck tradition for good weather. Ironically this tradition is supposed to have been started by farmers in Spain, where they buried sausages amongst their crops to protect them from stormy weather!

Touching Moments Before the Wedding Ceremony
Morgans’ gorgeous bridesmaids arrived along with Charlie Trim. Not only is Charlie a local legend but a farmer and a damn fine florist. Bouquets of bright reds, whites, and yellows filled the air with their floral scent. We were joined by the talented Beccy from Thompson Wedding Films, who I just love working with.
As the girls finished getting ready they donned their dresses and in turn helped Morgan into her stunning wedding dress. All under the watchful eye of her mother. Now, with her wedding dress and veil on Morgan’s kilted father arrived. That was the exact moment the tears really started to flow!
Outside a family friend had parked his Bentley to take Morgan and her father the short trip down the road.
Groom Preparation Photographs
Meanwhile Murray Joined Andy as he made some final touches to the wedding reception venue. It was in a secluded valley in the rural Purbeck countryside overlooking the sea. It is the first time we have seen a groom raking leaves and heaving straw bales ion a wedding morning! Inside the marquee a stunning iced naked three tier wedding cake stood.
He joined the chaps at one of the groomsmen’s houses and they shared jokes and stories over cups of tea.

Andy opened a gift from his wife-to-be. A stunning Armani watch! Breakfast was consumed around the kitchen table and the groom’s party preparations began. With shirts, waistcoats, and suit jackets on this bunch of Purbeck farmers looked incredibly dapper.
As such they headed to the local pub, the Scott Arms in Kingston for a few pints of Dutch courage and meaningful chats about weddings and farming, well, mostly farming! As time ticked by they walked as a pack up the hill to Kingston church – known locally as “the cathedral of Purbeck”.
We know St James’s well and love shooting weddings in its gothic revival interior. In 1870, they built this stunning ‘cathedral of Purbeck’. Locally, people know it for its wonderful acoustics, architecture, and ring of 10 bells.
Today the exterior almost glowed red in the bright sun. Inside the dark interior was punctuated with huge sprays of bright flowers matching the bridal party’s bouquets. The chaps greeted the throngs of arriving wedding guests in their brightly coloured clothing.

Wonderful Rural Church Wedding Ceremony Photos
I arrived in the back of the wedding car with Morgan and her father to be greeted by the bridesmaids.
With all the wedding guests seated in the aisles, Andy waited patiently at the altar. Morgan arrived next to him, looking jaw-droppingly stunning, sporting her infectious grin.
We were all treated to a traditional Christian wedding ceremony with hymns and readings, full of humour and joy. Just like the newlyweds. They left the church into the bright sunshine to cheers from their guests who showered them in orange and white confetti.

A Viewpoint for Dorset Rural Wedding Photos
Again I jumped into the back of the Bentley, this time with Morgan and her new husband. As we had access we drove up to the local viewpoint of Swyre head for some Dorset rural wedding couple photos.
Getting out of the car was like getting off a plane in another country, the weather high up on the coast was terrible. The wind blew hard and the rain started to come in. So almost as soon as we arrived we left.
Back down the hill away from the wind the sun popped out and the newlyweds enjoyed a glass of champagne in the sunlight.

An Unforgettable Wedding Reception
Meanwhile, in one of the next valleys along the coast, Murray and the wedding guests had arrived for the reception. Several large marquees wrapped around a field with a coastal view to die for. Straw bales provided windbreaks. The perfect location for Dorset rural wedding photos.
Drinks flowed and a band entertained the guests. Morgan and Andy arrived to a standing ovation and before we knew it they were mingling and dancing with the happy guests.
We let them enjoy the sun for a while before rounding them up for group photographs. I found climbing on top of the bales provided the best angles to capture everyone. Morgan and several of the guests were excited by the fresh mussels being served.
Inside one of the marquees had been laid out with trestle tables. All decorated with flowers and candles. After enjoying more drinks and garden games in the sun the guests filtered in for the wedding breakfast.

A Wedding Breakfast Full of Laughter
Morgan and Andy entered to yet another standing ovation with the jovial guests twirling their napkins around their heads.
Next came the wedding speeches. Morgan’s father kicked off with childhood stories. He was unable to keep from crying gave the happy couple his marriage wisdom and love.
Then Andy took the stage. He read his speech to many laughs from the crowd. The finale was the two best men who had everyone in tears of joy and fits of laughter. A couple of embarrassing props included Andy’s “little black book” filled with dust and a rude calendar.
The couple’s friend Gordan Sutherland (from Eat In Style Catering) served a mouth-watering wedding meal for all.
As the wine flowed the amazing food was digested. The bar opened the guests cranked up their energy levels. Next to the bar Morgan and Andy cut their wedding cake.

Dancing Under The Stars
As dusk fell the groomsmen lit the ‘Swedish logs’. A couple of large wooden posts that had been soaking in diesel all day, marked the entrance to the site.
In the other marquee DT8, the 12-piece band had set up next to the dancefloor. The guests lined up around. Under multicoloured lights, the newlyweds took to the dancefloor for their first dance. Next, the dancefloor filled with wildly dancing guests- they were having the time of their lives.
Evening guests had arrived and those not yet brave enough to join the dancefloor merrily chatted in the bar area.
For a break from the serious dancing, the groomsmen had organised a fireworks display from further down the field. Andy what a display it was. Andy and Morgan huddled together, surrounded by their guests watched an ariel display to die for in the night sky. The perfect finale to their Dorset rural wedding photos.
Morgan and Andy’s wedding beautifully showcases the charm of rural Dorset. Highlighting the region’s natural beauty and their loving connection to it. Their day was a perfect blend of heartfelt moments, stunning visuals, and joyful celebrations. Making it an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. For couples seeking inspiration for their own wedding photography, Morgan and Andy’s story is a true testament to the magic that can unfold in a rural setting.
