Our sneak peek at Carly & Chris’s wedding photographs begins at St Mary’s church in Swanage. With hot summer sun, a fire engine escort, a hilltop reception (with epic views), and golf buggies we knew it would be a great day for Purbeck Golf Club wedding photographs. It would be an interesting contrast to our last golf club wedding photography at Dudsbury Golf Club. Talking of contrasts the last wedding we photographed at The Tithe Barn wedding venue in Symmondsbury was on the other side of Dorset. Today we would be working in our own ‘back garden’ embracing the stunning vistas over the Purbeck.
Golf Club Wedding Photographs Bridal Preparations
Carly, her bridesmaids, flower girls, and the mothers were getting ready at her parent’s house in Langton Matravers. While drinking bubbles outside in the sunshine the girls took it in turn to have hair and make-up styled. Soon the flower girls were in their little white dresses and Carly even had time to style her Dad’s hair!
With everyone else ready it was time for Carly to get into her dress. She wore an off the shoulder mermaid style dress with classic veil. Her flower girls and bridesmaids made sure that she looked perfect for her Golf Club wedding photographs.
Golf Club Wedding Photographs Groom Preparations
I found Chris and his groomsmen at home in Swanage. The guys were very relaxed and after some breakfast all looking forward to the day. Blue three piece suits with pink ties and pocket squares were their choice for the big day. With buttonholes in place they walked to the church in the sunshine.
Church Ceremony In Swanage
Once they had arrived the chaps busied themselves greeting the day’s wedding guests. As the church filled Chris took his place at the front with his best man alongside him. Bridesmaids and flower girls were first to arrive in the classic Austin Six wedding car from RK Prestige Wedding Cars. After a short wait Carly and her father arrived. The flower girls were on hand to make sure that Carly’s dress was perfect.
A Bridesmaid gave a lovely reading followed by the vicar. Carly and Chris made their promises to each other and exchanged rings. Meanwhile the flower girls behaved like angels! After the blessing witnesses and family members gathered for the signing of the marriage register.
Chris’s colleges from Swanage fire station gave the newly-weds a guard of honour (with an archway of axes!) as they exited the church. As the guests came out they took confetti to throw at the happy couple as they made their way towards the wedding car. They left the church escorted part of the way by two fire engines complete with sirens and blue flashing lights.
Golf Club Wedding Photographs Of Reception And Speeches
The summer sun was shining at the Isle of Purbeck Golf Club and it was as clear a day as we have ever seen. The panoramic view across Poole harbour was stunning. Guests enjoyed a drinks reception with guitarist George Russell providing the sound track. Many guests chose to enjoy their drinks looking out over the amazing view from the terrace.
Guests enjoyed a wedding breakfast with all the trimmings supplied by the Isle of Purbeck Golf Club in-house catering team. Once most had had their fill it was time for the wedding speeches.
Carly’s father was up first with some stories of his daughter growing up. Chris followed, he remembered to thank everyone and refer to his beautiful wife at least twice. To bring the speeches to a close was the best man. He managed not to swear and used a rather cheeky photo of Chris as a prop delivered to each table.
After the wedding breakfast guests again enjoyed a drink with one of the best views in Dorset. Meanwhile we took Carly and Chris out on the course with two golf buggies. We stopped at some locations for their couple shots against the backdrop of the coastline.
Evening Entertainment At The Isle Of Purbeck Golf Club
We returned to the club house. After Chris had driven the flower girls from one side of the car park to the other it was time to cut the cake. Everyone gathered round as the new Mr and Mrs cut their wedding cake shortly followed by first dance. Mark from Pegasus Disco was on hand to ensure everything ran to time.
The clouds and sunset combined to produce something pretty spectacular as the guests danced away.
Keeping guests entertained there was a fun game of Mr and Mrs and a photo booth from Photo Star Booth. With the ladies gathered Carly threw her bouquet, straight to one of her bridesmaids!. After capturing some shape throwing on the dance floor we left everyone dancing into the night.
