Upton House Wedding Photographs in Dorset with Nautical Details
We love working at this mansion and country park in Poole, Dorset. We were particularly excited to see how Emily and Giles would style the venue for these nautical-themed Upton House Wedding Photographs
Bridal Preparation Photographs
We arrived at Emily and Giles’ house on the morning of this Upton House wedding to find Emily and her bridesmaids in the midst of preparations. Emily had cunningly programmed her doorbell to play the wedding march and guests had to ring it before entering. Every time it rang she sprang onto her feet and danced with joy. With all of the comings and goings of the wedding morning, there was quite a lot of dancing. Wedding hair and makeup were styled by Kate from Bridal Blush.
A gorgeous A Line wedding dress hung in the window, glowing in the bright sun. In a bedroom doorway hung the three royal blue bridesmaid dresses. As the morning progressed a calm excitement developed in the house. The Wedding flowers arrived with beautiful bouquets of sunflowers, pale yellow roses and blue Delphiniums.
A family friend arrived outside in the bright sunshine. He brought his gorgeous classic Daimler wedding car complete with royal blue ribbons. The girls departed in high spirits as Emily and her father waited to depart.
Groom Preparation Photographs on Upton House Wedding Morning
I found Giles enjoying breakfast in the family garden with his family and best man. After breakfast, he took his car to the Haven Hotel. The wedding couple would be spending their first night as a married couple here.
Back at the family home, Giles gifted his best man, brother, and father with anchor socks and silver knot cuff links. The groom and his groomsmen wore grey three-piece suits with royal blue ties and matching pocket squares. Pale roses were the choice of buttonhole with Giles having a splash of blue to it.
Wedding Ceremony Photographs At A Dorset Stately Home
The drawing room had been decorated in simple royal blue chair sashes and beautiful music was supplied by harpist Emily Rowell. After a brief pause outside Giles took his place and waited for his bride to be. The sound of a classic V8 engine outside announced the arrival of the bride and her father. The heartfelt wedding ceremony took place in the drawing room surrounded by friends and family. Just when those crying with joy thought they would have a rest Emily and Giles read lovely self-written vows to one another.
The happy couple were beaming from ear to ear as they were married. They joined their guests outside the front of the house. Next, we arranged everyone for a group photograph on the ha-ha. Confetti was thrown and the guests took turns in congratulating the newlyweds, some posing for pictures.
Upton House Wedding Reception Photographs
With everyone outside, the drawing room was turned around by Upton House staff. Tiger Lily Occasions added nautical details to the royal blue and yellow decor. Driftwood and sunflower centerpieces sat on the tables. A two-tier wedding cake with large sunflower sat above cupcakes with smaller sunflower, anchor, or knot details from Baking Aces.
The wedding speeches from Emily’s father, Giles and finally his best man caused much laughter and some tears before everyone enjoyed afternoon tea.
We took the newlyweds for a walk around the grounds of Upton County Park and into the gorgeous walled garden.
Upton House Wedding Evening Entertainment
Richard from Pure Wedding Entertainment had set up in the drawing room to keep the guests entertained. When not dancing a photo booth from The Party booth Company had also been set up in a separate room.
After the first dance and a father-daughter dance the rest of the guests joined the happy couple on the dance floor. Many an excited shape was thrown.
