We have been looking forward to creating Laura and Nathan’s Purbeck farm marquee wedding photographs. With a Dorset village church wedding ceremony and marquee placed on a local farm with views to die for overlooking Corfe Castle. We love farm weddings and with a non traditional wedding breakfast of curry and cake, wood fired pizza and a brass band it promised to be a wedding not to forget. The last wedding we photographed was at Studland Bay House, and had been a grandiose affair with formal gardens and a stately home. In contrast today would be all about the wonderful rustic aesthetic.
Documentary Wedding Bridal Preparation Photographs
Tom began this Purbeck farm marquee wedding morning at the couple’s home in Steeple near Church Knowle. There was a buzz in the air as the bridesmaids and bride all had hair and make up expertly styled by Peachey Glam and Yasmin Taylor Hair Design. The girls wore matching pink dressing gowns and enjoyed wedding morning bubbles as they took turns.
Flowers arrived from Buds of Mave containing pink and white roses interspersed with green foliage and Gypsophilia. With every one wedding ready the first trip in the wedding car would be the bridesmaids. Once they had been dropped off at the church the driver returned for Laura and her father.
Groom Wedding Morning Preparation Photographs
I found Nathan and his groomsmen enjoying a hearty breakfast before making some final adjustments to the wedding marquee set up. This done they began to get ready for the day.
They all wore matching three piece suits with pink ties. With every one ready for a Purbeck farm marquee wedding we all headed for the New Inn in Church Knowle. Here, Nathan greeted some guests who had also though to stop for refreshment on route to the church. After a G&T or two it was time for the groom and the rest of team groom to head to the church.
Purbeck Hamlet Wedding Church Ceremony Photos
The ancient church of Steeple lies in a stunning little hamlet nestling under the Purbeck hills. Two of the groomsmen went ahead to direct traffic and were soon joined by the groom and his other groomsmen. The church soon filled up and after more greeting of guests Nathan took his place at the front. Two of his groomsmen also filled in as bell ringers as the bride was due to arrive.
Laura arrived in style in her beautiful vintage white Rolls Royce from Wedding Cars Dorset. Upon exiting the car her bridesmaid were on hand to ensure she looked her best. They all paused outside the church to gather themselves. Noah, the page boy led the bridesmaids in, after which Laura and her father came down the aisle.
Laura’s father gave away her hand in marriage to Nathan and took his seat. Noah’s duties were not over, as he helped with the rings. Rings and promises exchanged the newly weds had their first ever kiss(!). After the marriage blessing it was time to take care of the paperwork before exiting the church to roars of applause. Confetti rained down on the happy couple as they made their way back to the wedding car, departing for their Purbeck farm marquee wedding reception.
Purbeck Farm Marquee Wedding Photos Of Reception
The venue for the wedding reception was a short distance down the road on a friend’s farm. A marquee stood proud in the corner of the field with an amazing view back across the valley towards Corfe Castle. Outside the marquee guests enjoyed a drinks reception in the sunshine. Soon the newly weds joined them. At 5pm on the dot everyone filtered into the Purbeck farm marquee wedding venue for the speeches.
To kick things off the father of the bride gave a heartfelt and entertaining speech welcoming Nathan to the family. Next up was Nathan himself who said that he had written “something” down. Nathan’s brother gave the funniest best man speech we have heard for a while. The original Jokes about growing up with his two brothers had all in fits of laughter. Neither the caterers or photographers couldn’t keep a straight face!.
Wedding speeches complete it was time to enjoy what everyone had been smelling for some time now. Four different curries were served by the lovely Bliss Food Company for this non traditional wedding breakfast. Yet dessert was a traditional wedding cake handmaid by one of the incredibly talented bridesmaids. Three tiers of it sat on a handmade wood, rope and glass pedestal. Zoe and her team from the The Kings Arms were on hand to keep the guests topped up with their marquee bar serving tasty beverages.
Purbeck Farm Marquee Wedding Photos Of Evening Entertainment
Once the wedding cake had been eaten and more drinks consumed evening guests started to arrive in time to see the happy couple take to the dance floor for the first dance. For the smallest of moments they had the dance floor to themselves surrounded by their nearest and dearest before being joined by the aforementioned.
There was a break in the dancing action as the bride and ladies headed outside for the bouquet toss. Fresh pizza from Dorset Pizza Kitchen was on the evening menu while brass band Brass Junkies were banging out some classic tunes and keeping the dance floor bouncing into the night of this Purbeck farm marquee wedding.
All in all a wonderful rural wedding day for a lovely couple, thoroughly enjoyed by both wedding suppliers and wedding guests.
