After two weather delays, Faye and James wanted to capture their engagement memories in the New Forest. With the third attempt, we aimed for a sunset session, hoping for clear skies and the golden glow of an autumn evening.

They had both delved into our wedding wisdom blog posts about why engagement photo shoots are important and our handy top ten tips for engagement photographs.

Building Comfort in Front of the Camera

Faye and James were initially hesitant about being photographed, a sentiment many couples share. To ease them in, I began capturing images from a distance. This let them get used to the camera’s presence. This approach helped them feel more at ease, as they were able to engage naturally with each other without the immediate pressure of posing.

As the session progressed, I encouraged them to move closer to the camera at their own pace. We chatted about their interests and shared stories, which helped to create a relaxed atmosphere. This slow shift made Faye and James more at ease. It led to some heartfelt moments on camera during their New Forest engagement shoot.

Discussing Wedding Plans Amidst Nature

During our walk through the New Forest, Faye and James shared their excitement about their upcoming wedding. They fondly spoke of their chosen venues, Corfe Castle and Kingston Country Courtyard.
