Stourhead House Wedding Photographs
Lucy’s big day and started out at the hairdressers, returning to begin her Stourhead House wedding photographs at the family home on the outskirts of Warminster. Walking around the venue for the big day ahead I could tell that some serious thought had gone into the planning stages of the wedding. In the gorgeous summer garden, a large wooden mounted table plan stood in pride of place in front of the huge marquee. Inside a barrel of real ale was settling and a wooden love hearts were placed for a message box.
Outside, looking back over the garden the wedding guests started to arrive and set up their tents in a nearby field for that night’s camping.
Bridal Preparations for Stourhead House Wedding
Inside Lucy’s family home the bridesmaids were the first to be ready and in turn helped Lucy into her dress.
I was aghast as the gorgeous wedding flowers styled around a ‘Countryside Garden’ wedding arrived from Sprout and Flower.
The girls, all now looking impossibly stunning descended the stairs together. Downstairs Lucy’s father and brothers were all kitted out with top hats and tails to greet them. On the driveway, in the bright sunshine, Mable Sue had made a special appearance. Mable Sue is Lucy’s old VW camper van.
Groom Wedding Preparation Photographs
Meanwhile, Martin and the chaps were all to be found ensconced nearby. The room was awash with personalized cufflinks, hip flasks and a very shiny new Rolex (Lucy’s morning present to Martin). The bright sunshine streamed in the large windows ‘sandwich’ lighting the chaps as they busied themselves, lost in the morning’s preparations.
Once all the accessories had been put on there was time for a kick about in the garden and some ‘downtime’ for Martin to practise his speech before I headed to Stourhead House for their Stourhead House wedding photographs.
Stourhead House Wedding Photos at a Stunning Wedding Venue
You may remember from Martin and Lucy’s engagement photoshoot at Stourhead House that the house and grounds have been a part of Lucy’s family for generations.
In the glorious sun, the Palladian mansion majestically sits above its grounds and gardens, making the perfect breath-taking backdrop for a wedding. The house looked even more beautiful with the gorgeous bridesmaids waiting patiently outside, just the subjects for Stourhead House wedding photographs.
Some of the awaiting ladies couldn’t help themselves and simply had to adjust the various buttonholes and cravats available. Martin arrived and jovially waited in the main reception room with his guests.
The distinctive sound of an air-cooled engine announced Lucy’s stylish arrival. She was led in by the flower girls, bridesmaids and then escorted down the aisle by her father.
Stourhead House Wedding Photographs of Ceremony
In the subtly lit room, the emotional wedding ceremony was mixed with two readings from guests. The signing of the register was accompanied by music from Lucy’s brothers.
The blend of exceptionally high contrast lighting, grand architecture and huge gold-framed paintings makes Stourhead a completely unique venue.
Wedding Confetti Photographs at Stourhead House
The guests happily assembled at the foot of the vast stone staircase to shower the newlyweds with confetti. One very enthusiastic flower girl dumped a whole basket of confetti on Martin’s head! Once they had dusted themselves off there was just enough time for a group photograph of the entire wedding party. Not forgetting to include Mable Sue!
The happy couple left to a round of applause in Mable Sue and headed for Lucy parents’ home, shortly followed by the guests.
Country Garden Wedding Reception Photographs
Welcome drinks were taken on the lawn outside of the marquee. Surrounded by impressive summer flowers and garden sculptures. The sounds of happy chatting and laughter mixed with the clinking of glasses and flowed across the local countryside.
We quickly organised further group photographs and Lucy threw her bouquet. I’m not sure I have ever seen so much competitive pushing and shoving for the bouquet!
Wedding Breakfast and Speeches in a Wedding Marquee
Inside the marquee, the four tables were named after some of Martin and Lucy’s significant watering holes. The happy couple were welcomed by their guests with a standing ovation.
During the speeches we witnessed Lucy’s father break into song with two of his pals and the crowd going wild! Martin faked an attempted runner and then delivered a heartfelt speech. The best men’s speeches were so emotional they had some trouble holding back their tears.
Traditionally this would be the time of the day that the wedding cake is cut. So Martin and Lucy now cut their cheeses (which were by now smelling fantastic!) from Godminster Cheese.
Wedding Dancing Photographs
Some of the children couldn’t wait to get on the dance floor and warmed it up before Martin and Lucy danced their first dance and husband and wife. Almost at the end of the dance Martin beckoned the guests to join them
We left the guests happily dancing the night away to the incredible sounds of the wedding band ‘The Baker Brothers’. Not forgetting of course to capture one last shot of Mable Sue!
