Osmington Mills Engagement Photographs
This week we are proud to present Alex and Reece’s Osmington Mills engagement photographs. Alex and Reece are lucky enough to be getting married at one of Dorset’s most stunning wedding venues. They have chosen to marry at Lulworth Castle wedding venue next spring. Alex’s parents had the thoughtful idea of purchasing an engagement photo shoot as a gift.
On a crisp autumn afternoon, we arrived at The Smugglers Inn at Osmington Mills on the Dorset coast. The car park started to fill with people in serious outdoor gear. They were wearing even more serious-looking walking boots. A handy map of the area showed some incredible-looking footpaths nearby.
The coastal view was stunning, overlooking the sea out towards Portland. The area offers such beauty that John Constable spent his honeymoon here!
Alex and Reece later revealed that this was the location of Reece’s marriage proposal on one knee, ring in hand. So this was the exact site that the couple started their engagement together.
The happy couple then arrived, full of smiles and excitement for having their photographs taken.
Engagement Photographs On Dorset Beach
Now due to recent wet weather, the coastal footpaths around the Smugglers Inn were more than a little muddy. We were apprehensive about how willing the guys would be to risk a little mud on their shoes but we needn’t have been. Alex and Reece were happy to off-road with the best of them, immediately descending a steep clay logged route down to the beach.
With little prompting they then took a walk along the beach, spending some time together as we enjoyed the views in the low autumn sun. Even the local wildlife seemed to be copying the happy couple.
Laughing and joking away we talked about their wedding plans. Next, we found some ammonite fossils scattered around the stones on the beach.
Climbing back up to the pub revelled how boggy the ground was and how lucky we were not to lose our footwear. We discovered some unfortunate person’s wellies stuck in the mud!

As with every good walk we finished up with a quiet drink in the pub garden. Again talking through the wedding day. Discussing which suppliers would be most appropriate for their needs. Alex was a little distracted but that was due the number of cute and fluffy dogs sat around!
We can’t wait to work with this happy couple again on their big day, we found their enthusiasm catching.
