Old Vicarage Wedding Venue in New Forest With Amy and Dan
We have been looking forward to Amy and Dan’s Old Vicarage wedding for a while now. Their choice of fine country house is set in 10 acres of beautiful Botanical Gardens & Woodlands with a bespoke wedding marquee. A gorgeous New Forest wedding venue. After our last wedding in the Leicestershire countryside it was nice to be working a little closer to home!
Christchurch Harbour Hotel Bridal Preparation Photographs
We began the day at Christchurch Harbour Hotel where Amy, her bridesmaid and mother were getting ready. They were both in high spirits but very relaxed. The wet weather outside did not dampen their high spirits. Under the watchful eye Amy’s mother the make up artist and hairdresser worked their magic.
Maria from Simply Flower bounced into the room, excited as ever about her latest floral creations. Amy had chosen beautiful summer wild flower bouquets with blues and pink punctuated by the yellows of sunflowers.
Amy’s bridesmaid wore a gorgeous navy blue bridesmaids dress and her mother a navy floral number with red jacket and black and red fascinator. Amy’s stunning white lace detailed trumpet wedding dress was taken from its hanger and Amy’s mother laced her into it. All three ladies looked absolutely stunning and were now ready to depart for the Old Vicarage wedding.
Old Vicarage Wedding Groom Preparation Photographs
I met Dan and his best man Nick at the Old Vicarage wedding venue on the edge of the New Forest. Both seem very relaxed and they added some final touches to the wedding marquee. The guys from Simply Flower were busy raising the numerous lanterns that lined the ceiling of the marquee. After completing the (vital task) of putting the place names out the gents headed back to the room to get ready.
Both groom and best man wore grey checked trousers with matching waistcoats and navy blue ties. Matt accessorized with a set of stags head cuff links and an inscribed silver pocket watch. The Orangery was decorated with ivy running along the old beams and bunches of flowers attached to chairs down the aisle. Dan and Nick had a few moments to enjoy a pre-wedding drink while they welcomed guests now arriving.
Old Vicarage Wedding Ceremony Photographs
With guests in place Dan was starting to show a few nerves now and took his place at the front. Amy was escorted down the aisle by her father. The civil ceremony took place with sunbeams occasionally busting through the sky lights. They made their promises to each other, exchanged rings and became husband and wife. The newly weds and guests enjoyed a drinks reception outside complete with lawn games.
We took advantage of the break in the weather to take the new Mr and Mrs for a walk around the lush if (slightly damp) gardens . After a number of group photographs everyone made their way into the marquee for wedding breakfast. Before the nervous groomsmen knew it, it was time for speeches. Amy’s brother read out some heart felt words prepared by her father. Dan’s speech had the guests in laughter and tears followed the best man.
Old Vicarage Wedding Speeches And Evening Entertainment
After the speeches and another break in the weather some of the guests ventured outside and used some of the lawn games.
The Bright side band were quick to set up and sound check before welcoming Amy & Dan for their first dance as husband and wife. They danced in front of the huge LOVE letters that lit up the dance floor watched by their family and friends. They were promptly joined them under the disco lights to the alternating sets with Russ from Quantum Disco.
A pause in the dancing gave an opportunity to cut the wedding cake. This amazing naked Victoria sponge had been sitting in the corner of the marquee with various cupcakes supplied by Cakes by Sadie.
We left the happy couple dancing the night away with their guests to the sound of the wedding band.
The New Forest is such a uniquely beautiful part of the world, we can’t wait to shoot our next New Forest Wedding.
