Kingston Lacy Engagement Photos
This is the story of Tiffany, David, and Bailey’s Kingston Lacy engagement photos in Dorset. We first met this wonderful couple at a local wedding show and loved their kind, caring nature.
Tiffany and David enjoy walking through the gardens of Kingston Lacy with their adorable dog Bailey. They chose this venue for their engagement photos because it has a special meaning for them. They also wanted to capture some of the beauty and history of this place.
Kingston Lacy is a stunning country house and estate in Dorset, England. The National Trust property was built in the 17th century by the Bankes family, who owned it for over 300 years. The house has a wonderful collection of art and the gardens have a variety of gorgeous features. You can see much of the stunning interior in Nathan & Daisy’s Country House proposal photo shoot here
Murray and I have often commented that Kingston Lacy would make a spectacular wedding venue. It has such a rich variety of stunning locations.
An Engagement Photoshoot In The Gardens Of Kingston Lacy, Dorset
I arrived through a torrential downpour. But I was prepared for all weathers at Kingston Lacy. The weather forecast was variable, so I hoped for some sunshine later.
David and Tiff are such a caring couple, I wanted to capture their kindness and love for each other. So I used a relaxed and jovial approach whilst being a little sneaky! I told them that they were just framing shots of the house and grounds, and joked with them as I captured their natural smiles and expressions.
Kingston Lacy Engagement Photos In The Bamboo
We emerged from the enclosed woodland into a sea of green bamboo at the entrance to the Japanese garden. This was a beautiful spot to take some photos, as the bamboo created a secluded and serene atmosphere.
The happy couple merrily talked about their wedding plans for Elmers Court Hotel and Christchurch Priory later in the year. With the happy distraction, I snapped some candid shots of them while they were chatting.
Photos In The Japanese Gardens
Bailey wasn’t too keen on us stopping for long so he took us further into the Japanese gardens and I’m glad he did! The Acers were out in their full crimson and orange glory, contrasting the green bamboo. Next asked Tiffany and David to wait together for me while I pretended to look for a better location. I actually wanted to take some photos of them from a distance, without them noticing. They looked so sweet and romantic, holding hands and cuddling. Meanwhile, Bailey knew exaactly what I was up to!
Ironically I also found a viewpoint from which I could photograph the lovebirds from an elevated view. All of a sudden the Kingston Lacy engagement photos looked like they were something out of a fairytale. The angle painted a backdrop of flowering snowdrops.
Kitchen Gardens Engagement Photographs
The sun finally came out, and Bailey then took us to a part of Kingston Lacy I had never seen before: the kitchen garden. It was a hidden gem, full of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. A huge purple wisteria was covering the side of a Victorian greenhouse, adding a splash of colour to the Kingston Lacy engagement photos.
We Love Engagement Photographs With Pets
I could tell that both Tiff and David had relaxed into the flow of the engagement photos. As they appeared much calmer in the presence of a camera. Bailey was as ever a natural model, showing off his cuteness and love in front of the lens! On the way back, he found a cross between a stick and a small fallen tree. Which he decided would then be used for playtime with the humans.
A quick stroll through flower gardens took us back round to the driveway, with a view over the grand stately home. The perfect scene to end the Kingston Lacy engagement photos.
Despite their initial reservations for their Kingston Lacy engagement photos Tiffany & David commented that they had enjoyed their time with the camera. They were now much more confident about their wedding photographs.
