On a sunny but blustery Saturday morning, we left our island of Purbeck and headed for the mainland. Christchurch, Dorset, would be our destination for this Kings Arms wedding. After our last Kings Arms Christchurch wedding, we were really excited to be visiting this gorgeous venue again.
Bridal Preparation Photographs at Kings Arms Wedding
The bridal suite at The Kings Arms Hotel in Christchurch was beautifully lit. The bright sun streamed in through wooden slatted windows. We found Fran Thorpe styling makeup for Teri and the bridal party. Teri was super-relaxed, no sign of nerves, just a little excitement for the day ahead. Her sister, mother ,and bridesmaid buzzed around her. Teri gently prepared for the wedding ceremony.
Teri’s detailed yet simple, beautiful wedding dress hung in the windows of the Kings Arms. It glowed in the sunlight. Simply Flower delivered some multi coloured bright spring bouquets. They filled the room with a fresh floral scent.
Time sped by, as it does on a wedding morning, and Teri’s father arrived at The Kings Arms wedding venue just as she had put on her dress.
Groom Preparation Photographs at Kings Arms Hotel
Will and his best man were in the hotel room next door. There was time for a final read through of the groom’s speech before heading downstairs. Accompanying the father of the bride, they headed across to the Kings Arms Pavilion. Here, the wedding ceremony would take place later in the day. After a quick look and some help arranging the croquet hoops, they headed up the road for a drink. They then all headed back across the road to the Kings Arms Pavilion to take their places for the wedding ceremony.

The Kings Arms Pavilion was beautiful, decorated with wild flowers, pale pink chair sashes. Fairy lights stretched across the ceiling. With everybody in place, it was time for the bride to make her entrance. Teri was next escorted across the road by her father and a bridesmaid. She made her way to the front, where Will was waiting for her. After two readings, the happy couple made their promises to each other. The best man was on hand with the rings. Rings were then exchanged, and they became Husband and wife.
Wedding Reception Photographs at Kings Arms Pavilion
The paperwork was completed, then guests were treated to an al fresco canapé and Champagne reception. Large sofas to the side of the Kings Arms Pavilion proved to be a perfect setting for a seated wedding confetti shot. While some of the guests stood for group shots, others enjoyed croquet on the lawn.
Then took the newlyweds on a little walk to capture some images of the two of them on their special day. We utilized the castle ruins and other features in the gardens. Meanwhile, the guests had made their way back across the road to the Kings Arms Priory.
Documentary Wedding Speeches Photographs
After the Kings Arms wedding breakfast, it was on to the speeches. First up was the Father of the bride, who shared stories of his daughter growing up. Next was the Groom, who gave a very good account of himself and remembered to thank everyone involved. Last to go was the best man. He had most of the room in fits of laughter with his tales of days gone past in the company of the groom. Following the speeches was the cutting of the cake, the cheese cake from West Country Cheese.

Everyone then reconvened downstairs at The Kings Arms where the wedding DJ from Party Dexx had been setting up. Next, the new Mr and Mrs took to the dance floor to take their first dance as husband and wife. Soon, many of the guests joined in, including the “Ringwood girls”!
