We had been looking forward to this Italian Villa Poole Wedding for a while. A stunning classical wedding car and ceremony at Sandbanks Church in Poole followed by a sunny wedding reception at The Italian Villa attended by the Grenadier Guards band. Since meeting with Emily and Robbie to discuss their plans for the big day we knew it promised to be a good one.
To help Emily & Robbie feel more relaxed having their picture taken we got together a few months ago for a engagement photo shoot on sandbanks beach. We have shot many a wedding at the Italian Villa, but never one with the groom in his military uniform.
Bride Preparation Photographs at Family Home
Tom found Emily at her parents’ house at sandbanks. Here she would be getting ready with bridesmaid (sister) and parents. The house was filled with the wonderful scent of white and cream wedding flowers from Willow and the Wisp. Emily was incredibly relaxed and before she knew it she was being helped into her dress by her mother and ready to go. A gorgeous gold and green Rolls Royce Silver Cloud from Hire a Classic Car.com was chosen as the wedding car for the day. It’s first job was to deliver Emily’s Bridesmaid and Mother of the Bride at the church. They waited patiently outside in the sunshine for the car to return with Emily and her father.
Groom Preparation Photographs at Sandbanks Church
I caught up with Robbie and his groomsmen at The Church of Transfiguration in Sandbanks. Shortly after I arrived Robbie was into his uniform. The band got set up and did a quick run through of the hymns and other music that they would play. This completed they all proceeded to get ready. Once in their distinctive woollen red uniforms they took their places. Given the hot sun rising into the sky outside I was not at all jealous!. Robbie and his best man greeted guests as they arrived and directed them to seats. With almost all of the guests seated Robbie and his best man took their places at the front.
Church Wedding Ceremony in Sandbanks, Poole
As we have mentioned before The Church of Transfiguration is possible the lightest church that we have ever shot in. On such a sunny day the whole place was illuminated. Robbie stood front and center looking nervous, waiting for the arrival of his bride. Emily’s father escorted her down the aisle. It was great to hear the hymns chosen by the bride and groom when accompanied by the band. Robbie and Emily made their promises to one another and were married.
Outside, in the full heat of the sun the newly weds had some photos with family and friends. Guests were then invited to make their way to The Italian Villa for the wedding reception. While they did we took the newly weds down to Sandbanks beach for some unique couple photos.
Reception at Italian Villa Poole Wedding
Wedding guests were treated to a drinks reception in the Italian garden whilst the ten piece brass band providing the sound track. As the newly weds entered the garden guests assembled on the stairs and rained down red confetti on them. The brass band continued to entertain before one of them invited everyone inside for the wedding breakfast.
Speeches at Italian Villa Poole Wedding
The wedding breakfast supplied by Beales gourmet catering was enjoyed by everyone before they were treated to the wedding speeches. The Father of the Bride went first with stories of his daughter growing up. Next up was Robbie who survived some light heckling before the Best Man brought the speeches to close. Guests could now take a rest from laughing!
Evening at Italian Villa Poole Wedding
After cutting the cake it was time to head downstairs to the Siena Suite for the first dance under disco lighting and fairy lights. Soon others joined the newly weds and some serious shapes were thrown. We stole Emily and Robbie away, briefly, to take them down to Poole harbour shore, capturing some shots with the amazing sunset. We then returned them to their guests who were still raving the night away.
