Chewton Glen Wedding Morning Photographs
I arrived on their sunny wedding morning at Chewton Glen wedding venue and drove down to their luxury tree houses. These beautifully designed wooden clad ‘get away’ sit high among the trees in one of Chewton Glen’s luscious green valleys. The natural materials, soft warm colours and light, open spaces perfectly complimented the gorgeous panoramic view from the tree canopy.
High up in the tree house at Chewton Glen wedding preparations were underway. The hair stylist and makeup artist were using the floor to ceiling mirrors to expertly work their craft. Tiana’s family and bridesmaid were alternating between wedding preparations and enjoying their surroundings. Tiana’s nephew was in and out of the hot tub for most of the morning.
As the wedding morning progressed I used the mass of natural light, accessible angles and reflective surfaces to capture the mood and moments. I helped lace Tiana’s bridesmaids into their deep blue dresses and they in turn helped Tiana into her stunning wedding gown. Against the backdrop of the tree house and the wooded valley at Chewton Glen wedding details were abundant In these slightly ethereal surroundings I realised that Tiana now looked more like a beautiful princess in a fairy tale, her choice of the Chewton Glen wedding morning was perfect. For some reason I couldn’t get the phrase “Tiana’s tiara” out of my head for the rest of the day! Wonderful wedding flowers from Simply Flowers arrived in whites, creams and blues coordinating beautifully with the wedding’s blue key colour scheme.
Meanwhile Matt and the chaps were super busy over at Burgate Manor Farm.. Ties were adjusted, hair straightened (!) and button holes pinned under the watchful eye of Matt’s grandmother. After a last look at the speeches Matt and his best man just had enough time to finish off their table tennis game before leaving for the wedding ceremony! With the summer sun now out in its full warming glory the pianist entertained the guests in the Wintergarden at Highcliffe Castle.
This gorgeous wedding venue had been beautifully dressed with ivory chair covers with blue sashes and the ivory/ blue wedding flower mix. Inside the classically grand space we were treated to a heart-warming ceremony full of light and laughter with readings from family and friends. The now ecstatically happy newlyweds walked back down the aisle to applauds and their drinks reception in the sun baked gardens.
As the guests drank and joked in the sun we took a gentle stroll with Matt and Tiana down through the grounds for some beach wedding photographs.
On our return the Highcliffe Castle wedding party were to be found cooling themselves in the shade of the impressive 17th century castle’s walls. Clearly enjoying their day they were called into wedding breakfast in the Great Hall.
Set against the backdrop of the carved stone walls and the 30ft high Stained Glass Jessie window the Great Hall was a remarkable setting for the wedding breakfast, Merlins Catering supplied a mouth-watering three course meal. The top table looked particularly regal during the hilarious wedding speeches. Cakes by Nikki had created a wonderful personalised wedding cake, including Tiana and Matt’s dogs!
Back out in the landscaped gardens the wedding party enjoyed drinks with the costal views. The DJ from Choice DJ had set up in the drawing-room and surrounded by curtains of fairy lights and their friends and family Tiana and Matt gracefully swept about the dance floor for their first dance.
