Wedding Photographer Wimborne at Honeybrook Farm
Who would believe us if we said we were busy as a wedding photographer Wimborne on a farm, a stone circle, by a river and witnessed a bride on a zip line?
Rachael and Andy are a lovely, adventurous wedding couple, originally from the UK who now live in Sydney. They have been travelling the world since St. Valentines day this year. It is a testament to their organisational skills that they have co-ordinated their Wimborne wedding mostly with emails from the other side of the world. Not an easy task!
I knew Rachael and Andy would be good fun as it takes a certain type of inquisitive mind to travel through Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil as I did myself with my beloved camera back in 2004. Two days after landing in the UK I met them at their chosen venue- Honeybrook farm in Wimborne, Dorset. After talking with them for a while I realised their day would be particularly photogenic and certainly unique to them.

So their big day came with threats of showers, after a couple of ‘sun dances’ we arrived as the bridal party were having their hair and makeup styled. Our timing was spot on as the kettle had just boiled and brunch snacks were being served! All seemed uncommonly calm in the Rachel’s parent’s house. Even a last minute make up artist replacement and oversized buttonholes seemed to leave the bridal party unphased.
At Honeybrook farm, Wimborne the groom was just as calm. He waited in the garden with the wedding guests. Last minute adjustments and an application of stunning wedding dress in the farmhouse saw the bride and bridesmaids looking breathtaking. The cheeky little page boys arrived to carry the rings and a surprise for Andy, the toy cow that had joined them on all of their travels.

The bridal party arrived through the garden archways as the sun came out. After a lovely speech the official service was conducted in the farmhouse. Whilst signing the register I suggested that the couple might like to kiss for a photograph, the bridesmaids decided I was talking to them! Now a bright red wedding photographer Wimborne was at a loss for words. I won’t forget the kissing bridesmaids for a while!

Talking of novel occasions, we left with the bride and groom after some group shots in the farm gardens for the nearby stone circle. On the way the bride stopped to talk to a group of old university chums and a green barn wall made a great backdrop for a couple of portraits.

It’s not everyday we get to take pictures of a bride and groom in a stone circle. Particularly when it is their own private stone circle for the day. Then again, it’s not everyday we get to join a bride and groom on a riverside walk. Even less likely that we will take pictures of a bride using a zip line on her wedding day!
What next you ask?

Next they had wedding speeches, cutting of cake and the wedding breakfast in the beautifully converted wedding barn. We don’t know quite how late they stayed. We don’t think they were up till the wee hours as they had organised a wedding party on a boat out of Poole Harbour for the next day… as you do!
The set of images that we have produced for Rachael and Andy are them all over, fun, colourful and adventurous. All in a day’s work for a wedding photographer Wimborne.
