Swanage Castle Wedding Photographs in Dorset

As a wedding photographer in Dorset is an amazing country to be based in. We work at many of the most stunning wedding venues. Durlston castle stands high amongst these. A grand Victorian building stood in a gorgeous country park is a wedding photographers dream come true. In these winter months the view overlooking the sea and coast line to Bournemouth and the Isle of Wight lends to breathtaking Swanage castle wedding photographs.

Swanage Castle Wedding Groom Preparation Photographs

It was then with great joy that I joined Jim and his groomsmen at a Swanage pub preparing for the day ahead. Despite the nerves the chaps were on great form. They decided to take the page boys for a giggle at Swanage arcades on the sea front (that was their excuse anyway).

After winning a minion with the claw, a couple of bouts of car racing and a pirate shoot-em-up we had one last look at the beach. Next we headed up to Durlston castle.

The guests arrived at the wedding venue. They settled in to the bar with clear views across the sea as the chaps applied buttonholes. We love working with Dorset wedding planner extraordinaire Polly Smith from Blue Bay Events. She had beautifully dressed the ceremony room and was busy with the final wedding touches.

Durlston castle is particularly beautiful, and as a venue for child and adult guests alike it is fantastic. It supplies all the features of a  child friendly county park.

The wedding guests were well entertained before taking their seats into the ceremony rooms with its panoramic views across the Dorset coastline.

Jane arrived to her wedding in style in a white Mercedes with her bridesmaid, both full of smiles. The wedding ceremony was possibly the most full of nervous humour I have worked as a photographer. Jim and Jane and their guests were full of fun, as too were the Registrars

I was still chuckling away as the tasty afternoon reception started, catered by the Seventh Wave restaurant. With a slight chill in the air the sun set, creating a lovely orange warmth to the gorgeous stone castle. Jim and Jane took the opportunity for a stroll in the evening light to take in the scenery. This made for a set of beautiful Swanage castle wedding photographs.

The restaurant in the meantime had been expertly transformed into an evening reception venue with dance floor. Balloons, flowers and a wedding cake adorned the wedding tables.

Drinks flowed from the bar and as the evening guests arrived. Jim and Jane were hoping to dispense with the ‘traditional’ formalities of wedding seating, removing the top table and table plans.

Guests naturally settled themselves into the space and the wedding speeches literally had them crying with laughter.

After they cut their sea side themed wedding cake it was dancing time. The first dance not only involved the bride and groom but the page boys and flower girls . Polly from Blue Bay Events and Ian from Seventh Wave agreed that this wedding day was one of the most laughter filled we had worked at.

As a Dorset wedding photographer it is such a joy to work with such a great team of Dorset wedding suppliers to create these Swanage Castle wedding photographs.
