Stockbridge Farm Barn Wedding Photographs - Lindsay and Tom’s Sneak Peek
I’ll say it before and I’ll say it again, we love creating Stockbridge Farm Barn wedding photographs. You can see our Stockbridge Farm Barn Wedding Photographers review here and other Stockbridge Farm Barn wedding photographs here. No wedding at this private venue is ever the same, yet the beautiful woodwork of the ancient building is always incorporated in a gorgeous manner. None more so that Lindsay and Tom’s rustic/ wood themed wedding, I’ll explain their choice later.
After their Poole Harbour Engagement photographs we couldn’t wait for Lindsay and Tom’s big day. Lindsay and the girls could be described as the most serene bride, the calm amongst the chaos of wedding hair make up and dress fitting. As the pink champagne flowed even the neighbour’s crazy dog could not fuss Lindsay. The gorgeous flowers were delivered by Glily Wedding & Event Flowers.
In keeping with the orange colour flowing through the day the bridesmaids donned their orange dresses and helped Lindsay into hers. Still serene and looking gorgeous she accessorised with an orange garter, wedding shoes and orange clutch bag.
Tom’s choice of Pandora jewellery and presentation gift boxes went down very well and before she knew it Lindsay and her bridesmaids were whisked off into the Dorset countryside in gorgeous Vintage wedding cars from Superwed. For a change I spent the morning with Tom and the chaps over in my old stomping ground of Corfe Mullen. The morning bacon sandwiches were washed down with a cold beer and stories from the Swanage stag do kept them all entertained as they readied themselves for the day ahead.
Again orange socks (labelled with ‘groom’, ‘’father of the bride’ etc.), handkerchiefs and ties brought the colour into their presentation. Combined with their dark suits the chaps were looking incredibly dapper.
At Lindsay and Tom’s engagement shoot at Sandbanks Hotel Tom had told me that he was a little nervous having his photograph taken, there was certainly no sign of this and with just enough time to mow the lawn the chaps departed in a beautiful cream VW Type 2 camper van from Dorset Dubhire.
I should explain, Tom spends his days working with wood and gardens, he is an arborist and craftsman. Thus the lawn mowing and natural wood theme to the day.
Arriving to Stockbridge Farm Barn wedding photographs in the blazing summer sun I could Tom’s influence blending into the styling of the barn. Hand crafted wooden tables and benches were arranged for the wedding guests, wooden flower beds, bunting and wooden love hearts decorated all of the walls inside and out.
I was so very pleased to see Nick and Sam from Waite films were in attendance, not only are they fantastic wedding videographers but are a genuine pleasure to work with. I find working co-operatively with this pair allows a creative influence on our both wedding photography and their beautiful wedding videography.
Working with the incredibly bright summers day outside the barn and dark mood lit interior of the barn we shot a wonderful ceremony. All of Tom and Lindsay’s guests were either laughing or crying throughout. After a couple of heartfelt readings the newlyweds left the barn walking down their personalised hessian carpet to their drinks reception in the sun.
After a few Pims and pink lemonades with canapés we stole the happy couple away for five minutes in the VW camper. Still beaming at each other we captured Lindsay and Tom together in the Dorset countryside.
Tables had been laid out in the barn, decorated with personalised wooden love hearts, rustic countryside flowers and a tasty wedding breakfast was served by Creative Catering. The speeches set against the huge wooden walls of the mediaeval barn again brought tears of joy and laughter to their wedding guests.
It was fitting that as we organised the cake (from Huckleberry’s) cutting someone handed Tom a saw.
Wedding guests were asked to write messages on wooden love hearts which were then posted into a wooden presentation frame, possibly the most personal approach to a wedding guest book we have ever seen.
As the wedding disco and photo booth from The Photo Lounge set up Tom and Lindsay’s guests enjoyed the bar area and secluded outside shelter from the sun that the barn provides. The sweet cart proved irresistible and supplied sugary treats to power the evenings dancing
Tom and Lindsay gracefully twirled about the dance floor for their first dance against the backdrop of their bridesmaids in orange and the warm evening light of the barn.
