Rock and Roll wedding photographs with a black and white theme, goth cowboy boots,The General Lee, a spa hotel, a black and white wedding cake, the beach and the sea. This was the recipe for an amazing wedding with an awesome soundtrack.
Twas a sunny Friday morning as we left home on the Isle of Purbeck to this rock and roll wedding. A ferry ride later and we arrived early at FJB’s The Haven Hotel, overlooking the entrance to Poole harbour. We found our friend Iggy wedding DJ setting up in the Purbeck suite. Today he was not just DJ for the Rock and Roll wedding evening but master of ceremonies for the day.

We found Tash and her bridesmaids in an incredibly hot hotel room upstairs. The room was buzzing with activity and anticipation. Whilst having wedding hair and make styled the ladies were making sure to stay hydrated with Prosecco! Natasha’s A-Line wedding dress hung in a doorway complete with red Liverpool FC Garter and Rocket Dog wedding trainers. In keeping with the black and white theme, black and white silk rose bouquets arrived from Simply Flower.
To the sounds of The Motley Crew the bridesmaids changed into Rock and Roll divas They looked amazing in their black bridesmaid’s dresses. Tash was then helped into her dress and trainers. Her father came to see her for the first time in her dress. It’s safe to say that they were both a little emotional. With fans blowing her hair about, Tash looked like she was featuring in her own Rock and Roll video!

Meanwhile on the other side of town Murray Joined Gavin and the chaps for their Rock and Roll wedding morning. He arrived to find every one almost ready to take the short trip back to the Haven hotel. As well as Gavin and his groomsmen looking sharp in black wedding suits his two sons were also similarly dressed. The one thing missing at this point was the wedding car.
With the sound of a grunting V8 engine a shout came from another room, “THE CAR IS HERE”. This was followed by an exodus from he house. Muz would be lying if he said that he wasn’t excited to see this particular wedding car. Outside on the other side of the road there it was. A bright orange 1969 Dodge Charger, otherwise known as ‘The General Lee’. This childhood legend was supplied through Christchurch wedding cars.
After admiring the car from all angles Gavin’ s best man and groomsmen got into the back with Gavin taking shotgun. On arrival at The Haven Hotel the driver sounded the Dixie horn and pulled up outside the hotel’s main door. Gavin and his groomsmen were joined by other guests, many posing for pictures in the car.

DJ Iggy had set up his rig in the Marconi Lounge to provide the soundtrack for the service. Wedding guests were invited to ‘Pick a seat, not a side you’re so loved by the groom and bride’. They duly obliged and took their places.Gavin waited patiently flanked by his groomsmen. Natasha waited outside in the hallway with her father and bridesmaids. Iggy was given the nod to start the music. The bridesmaids led Tash and her father up the aisle.
we enjoyed a tear filled civil service where the couple made their promises to each other. One of the guests gave a heartfelt reading. While the happy couple signed the register ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ was played over the PA system. Once the paperwork have been taken care of the newly-weds walked down the aisle to ACDC’s ‘Highway to Hell”. A Rock and Roll wedding wouldn’t be complete without a bit of ACDC!
The happy couple and their guests enjoyed a sunny drinks reception on the terrace over looking Studland and the entrance to Poole Harbour. We led everyone down onto the beach for a group photograph before keeping just the bride and groom for some couple shots.
Rock and Roll Wedding Breakfast and Speeches
In the Purbeck Suite the tables was set for the black and white themed wedding breakfast. Black and white flower arrangements stood tall in the table centers. The Rock and Roll wedding couple had chosen black chair covers with white sashes and fairy lights hanging among the ceiling drapes.
Once people had taken their places the happy couple were welcomed into the room with much cheering and clapping. During the wedding breakfast the guests were invited to fill out ‘words of wisdom cards’. Natasha’s father kicked off the speeches followed by Gavin and finally his best man. For half an hour the room was filled with laughter and tears whilst the sun dipped outside.

MC Iggy revealed some of the more humorous words of wisdom given to Natasha and Gavin. Guests then enjoyed the evening sunshine and fresh air outside before returning for the cutting of the cake.
The dance floor room and private bar were revealed. Wedding guests gathered around the dance floor for yet another Rock and Roll accompanied spectacle.
DJ Iggy then revelled Tash and Gavin’s answers to select questions in a game of Mr and Mrs.
Tash’s father and daughter dance transitioned seamlessly onto her first dace with her new husband. Everyone else was soon invited to join the dance floor. Finally we left the guest who were either busy rocking the night away to DJ Iggy or using the many props supplied by Picture that Booth set up the Purbeck suite.
