Laura & Luke’s Purbeck Golf Club Wedding Photographs
We know Purbeck golf club wedding venue well. Not only is it just over the hill from our offices but it affords one of the best views in the area. After our last golf club wedding we were very excited that Laura and Luke had chosen this setting as their wedding venue.
Documentary Wedding Morning Photographs
We arrived at Laura’s parents’ house on a gorgeous sunny morning on the Isle of Purbeck. Inside the family were in various states of readiness, surrounded by wedding details, makeup, flowers, shoes, jewellery, Fortnum and Mason gift boxes etc.
As people popped in and out with various wedding related tasks there was a wonderfully welcoming warm family feel to the wedding morning. Laura’s gorgeous bridesmaid Sophie was whirling about downstairs making sure everyone was happy. She was the first to enjoy the amazing skills of makeup artist extraordinaire Jodi Flanders.
Laura joined us in a jovial and relaxed mood. The family dogs looked in through the window as she too had her makeup styled.
Upstairs in a bright bedroom the dresses hung on one side of the bed whilst wedding hair was styled on the other. We took the opportunity to use the many mirrors to unobtrusively capture the action in close quarters.
Murray and I split between rooms to capture images to tell the story of the build-up of the wedding morning. As the stunning wedding flowers from Caroline Finch arrived Murray departed to find Luke and his groomsmen.
Before she had time to think about it Laura was being helped into her wedding dress. Many brides have said that their wedding morning passes in the blink of an eye and today was no exception.
Laura’s daughter was also ready, looking so cute in her flower girl dress. She had just enough time for a walk around with mummy before leaving for the registry office.
Now looking absolutely breath-taking in her wedding dress Laura left for her Purbeck Golf Club wedding. She was driven by her grandfather in his exceptionally shiny Jaguar.
Meanwhile Murray found Luke showing off his drum kit cufflinks and sharing some ‘Dutch courage’ with his best man in the Red lion pub in Swanage.
A few members of the family arrived at the pub to wish him well and everybody made their way up the road to the town hall.
Swanage Town Hall Wedding Photographs
The morning sun beamed in through the town hall windows and wedding guests began to fill the seats.
Laura’s father escorted her down the aisle where Luke was nervously awaiting her. Smiles, tears and laughter were the order of the day. Surprisingly most of the tears were tears of joy from Luke and his father!
After the ceremony guests gathered outside the town hall with members of the Swanage lifeboat crew (of which Luke is a member). They had formed a guard of honour with oars to greet the newly weds as they left the building in a shower of confetti.
Isle of Purbeck Golf Club Wedding Reception Photos
We followed the wedding car up to the Isle of Purbeck golf club, of which even the car park has jaw dropping views.
The clubhouse had been wonderfully decorated with paper pompoms and fans. We noted that as the panoramic view was so striking that the room would barely need any decorations for a wedding as the guests would have a hard time noticing them!
Drinks and canapés were served. Once the happy couple had time to greet and relax we took everyone outside onto the putting green for some group photographs.
We then followed Laura and Luke out onto the course in two golf buggies. Our destination the famous 5th hole. Overlooking Agglestone rock and Pool Harbour this has to be one of the most beautiful places we have ever taken a wedding photograph! Laura and Luke were certainly happy to have a little time alone in such an incredible setting.
The sun had started to dip into the horizon and back inside food was served. We have to give credit to the Purbeck golf club wedding chef and team. The food was to die for and the hot and cold buffet was never-ending, constantly being replenished.
Evening Wedding Reception Photos at Purbeck Golf Club
The evening guests were then greeted with an amazing sunset view and yet more incredibly tasty buffet.
Since their eyes met in the morning Laura and Luke had been stealing kisses from one another all day. We think they wanted couple photographs as an excuse for yet more kissing! Their stunning wedding cake by Tina Parsons was cut and yet again the happy couple were kissing!
Meanwhile, in the background Razzberry Jam wedding band had set up. They cued in the first dance and against the gorgeous twilight countryside panorama Laura and Luke took the first turn about the dance floor. The band started up and the guests needed very little encouragement to throw down some shapes onto the dance floor.
Later into the evening Luke took his place with the band behind the drum kit to entertain the guests with a perfect performance.
We couldn’t resist taking some exterior photographs of the Purbeck golf club wedding venue lit up against the night sky. We headed home with big smiles on our faces, leaving the wedding dancing away in the disco lighting.
