Portland Engagement Photographs in Dorset
As a wedding photographers in Weymouth we are used to taking photographs in the on Chesil beach. When organising Laura and Paul’s Portland engagement photographs we hadn’t anticipated photographing such a fantastic views of it.
With changeable weather over the last month I met Laura and Paul for their Portland engagement photographs at Heights Hotel.
Portland Engagement Photographs Overlooking Weymouth
Arriving in the heights of the car park I could see why they chose this location. It provided epic panoramic views across Chesil beach and Weymouth coastline. Paul admitted that they enjoy a bag of fish and chips watching the sun set over the sea! We were in what photographers refer to as ‘The golden hour’. Here the evening light is at its best and the sun dips into the horizon.
The happy couple were exceptionally relaxed in front of the camera. I captured them joking about with the view in the background. They are a fun couple to work with and I expect a great deal of laughter on their wedding day
We even had time at this Portland engagement photographs session to compose a ‘clone the bride’ shot. We used the 2012 Olympic rings statue.
The Heights Hotel, overlooking the couple’s home town of Weymouth is a wedding venue itself. We are looking forward to working at Laura and Paul’s wedding at Kingston Country Courtyard in Purbeck, Dorset.
We took this time as an opportunity to talk about their wedding plans. The wedding day itself will include views across Corfe Castle. Paul will drive Laura’s father’s classic Jenson. There will be an amber and burgundy colour theme. We love working at Kingston Country courtyard and can’t wait for this weekend.
