We had met Nadine and Greg a couple of times and talked though their wonderful wedding plans. We were therefore very excited to have the opportunity to create their Italian Villa wedding photographs. You can see more of our The Italian Villa Wedding photographs here.
Italian Villa Wedding Morning Photographs
On a sunny summer’s morning Tom found Nadine at the Connaught Hotel in Bournemouth. Her bridesmaids were busily ironing bridesmaids dresses. The pastel green Greco-Roman dresses set the scene for the Mediterranean themed wedding day.
The space provided a sensory overload. Whilst sounds of laughter emanated from the room the girls whirled about a bed strewn with makeup, bags, shoes, cards and clothing. Most striking were Nadine’s gorgeous silver Jenny Packham wedding shoes glimmered in the center. Light steamed in from the balcony windows, highlighting Nadine’s wedding dress, hairspray and perfume alike. Nadine’s dress hung high in the window as if overseeing the proceedings.
Nadine received a gift of Channel Perfume from Greg and in the little spare time she had Nadine tearfully read her many wedding cards.

Next, the ever talented ladies from Bridal Treats expertly styled wedding hair and makeup whilst the girls enjoyed a glass or two with Nadine. Now we should explain that Nadine is ‘not your ordinary bride’. She is so full of infectious laughter and loves to joke around. Thus photographs of her posing in the roll top bath complete with her glass of bubbles. One of the bridesmaids had brought her own huge makeup box to rival the professionals.
The gorgeous Mediterranean themed pastel pink and cream wedding flowers arrived from Hill View Flowers and Events. The blooms added floral scents to the already fabulous smelling room. Nadine’s lovely little flower girl arrived shortly followed by Derek, the father of the bride. Upon meeting Derek one can not help but understand where Nadine gets her endearing sense of humour!
The girls donned their bridesmaids dresses and helped Nadine into her wedding dress. In her stunning silk sheath dress with sweetheart neck line and lace tattoo on the open back she took everyone’s breath away. There was time for a few ‘selfies’ before Derek escorted his daughter to Auntie Sharron’s Audi. So the wedding car set off towards Compton Acres for some Italian Villa Wedding Photographs.

Meanwhile I found Greg at the Ramada Encore Hotel. Just a fifteen minute stroll from Bournemouth’s sandy beach. I arrived to Greg opening his present from his bride to be. The present or presents consisted of a “how to be a good husband” book, hip flask, Paul smith socks and a post card with a wedding morning message.
While Greg was in the bathroom ‘fixing his hair’ the groomsmen were ironing shirts and handkerchiefs. After which Greg had some assistance getting his pink tie the correct length. Once suiting and booting was complete we all headed downstairs to the hotel bar for some Dutch courage. So the chaps enjoyed a San Miguel or two. Button holes were correctly placed as Nadine’s father headed off to meet up with Nadine and the girls. We left the hotel in a ribboned BMW X5 past Bournemouth pier heading for Compton Acre’s Italian Villa.
Italian Villa Wedding Photographs
At The Italian Villa Greg and his groomsmen inspected the Medici Reception room decorations. It was wonderful to see this venue personalised in a different manner after our last Italian Villa wedding venue photographs. The Mediterranean theme was present with rosemary olive oil and balsamic vinegar wedding favours and pastel pink flowers blended into green foliage. I knew so much planning and an eye for detail would make for the perfect Italian Villa wedding photographs. Sincerely May had created some gorgeous place names and labels. The hand-made seating plan was even a map of Italy.
Greg welcomed his guests to the villa and in the bright sunshine enjoyed a drink in the gorgeous gardens of the Italian Villa. Before he knew it Greg and his guests headed up the stairs to the Verona Suite to await the arrival of the bridal Party .

The bridal party arrived and gathered downstairs. Nadine had just enough time to give her flower girl a quick kiss in the sunshine. In the Verona Suite the flower girl sprinkled rose petals and led the three bridesmaids followed by Nadine in white with father by her side. The vows were sandwiched with heartfelt readings from guests. After signing the register the happy couple walked back down the aisle to a standing ovation, cheering and flashes going off as guests celebrated with their own Italian Villa Wedding Photographs. Nadine was so ecstatically happy that her smiling and laughter throughout the wedding ceremony had rubbed off on her wedding guests.
While the newly weds paused inside the Medici suite the guests made their way to the garden. Cold drinks were served in the hot sun around the Koi Pond. As the happy couple prepared to join their guests in the garden groomsmen armed most of them with handfuls of confetti.

The ever smiling couple descended the staircase into the garden through a shower of confetti. Once the petals had settled the guests gathered for some Italian Villa Wedding Photographs on the stone staircase. Nadine threw her bouquet much to the amusement of the ladies.
The guests enjoyed drinks and canapés (and a chilli for Greg) in the garden whilst their happy chatter echoed across Compton Acres. You would be forgiven for thinking that we were working in Tuscany, the view from the villa seemed like a scene from an Italian film
Wedding Breakfast Photographs at The Italian Villa
So the call for wedding breakfast was sounded and the wedding party enjoyed Beales Gourmet Catering’s famous food. Speeches were made by the Father of the Bride, Groom and Best man. Shortly followed by a few words from the Mother of the Bride and the Bride herself.
Opposite the top table stood two wedding cakes. One a cream three-tier wedding cake decorated with flowers and a ‘Just Married’ cake topper. The second a single-tier with the same decoration. The reason for two cakes became clear. Nadine decided she wanted a sponge cake but Greg and Derek preferred fruit cake. So Greg and his new Father in Law cut the second cake together!

The sun lowered into the horizon so we then stole the happy couple away down to the beach . Overlooking Poole Harbour we captured some stunning photographs in the deep orange glow of the evening light.
Italian Villa Wedding Evening Reception Photos
We arrived back at the Italian Villa to find the wedding guests in the Siena Suite awaiting the first dance. One or two of the guests (mostly the younger ones) could not wait and warmed up the dance floor.
The first dance, performed by Brendan Mills was an acoustic styling of an Ed Sheeran song. Nadine and Greg gently swayed about the dance floor surrounded by all the guests. Towards the end of the number the happy couple beckoned their guests onto the dance floor.
What happened next will probably stay with us for years to come. Brendan disappeared behind his decks and started the wedding disco music. He then emerged carrying a saxophone and played along to the dance tunes. As a result the crowd went wild. We can’t say we have ever seen a wedding DJ mix tunes and dance with the guests whilst playing saxophone before!
After much happy dancing the wedding guests enjoyed a BBQ just out in the cool breeze of the Italian garden.
