Holme for Gardens Documentary Wedding Photographs
We have been looking forward to shooting this Holme for Gardens wedding since meeting Lindsey and Hamish at a Holme for Gardens open day earlier this year. This relatively new Dorset countryside wedding venue is stunning. Weddings here are hosted right in the middle of the gorgeous gardens, strawberry fields, ponds and orchards.
Dorset Bridal Preparation Photographs
We found Lindsey, calm and collected at a holiday cottage a stone’s throw from Holme for Gardens Wedding venue. Our bride-to-be and her bridesmaids were busily having hair and make up styled. The wedding flowers from the ever talented and effervescent Lauren at Concept Flowers then arrived. Bouquets of dusty pink Hydrangeas for the bridesmaids and pink and yellow roses with green succulents for the bride.
In stark contrast to the whizzing chaos of preparations downstairs Lindsey’s beautiful wedding dress hung in a window upstairs. The back-lit dress with its mixture of simple lines and understated applique gave a serene feel to the room.
Flower girls were transformed into little wedding princesses in pastel pink. Lindsey’s bridesmaids only stopped whizzing about to don their Greco-Roman dusty pink bridesmaids dresses. Still exuding a happy calm Lindsey was helped in to her wedding dress and her morning transformation was complete. Descending the stairs to the gasps and applause of the bridal party she looked breath-taking.
Holme For Gardens Wedding Venue Preparation
Meanwhile I arrived at Holme for Gardens wedding venue to find many of the suppliers adding the final touches to the wonderfully transformed space. Polly and her team from Blue Bay Events (one of our recommended Dorset wedding planning suppliers) had performed and amazing job of preparing and managing the site. I knew we were in safe hands for the day.
Oakleaf Marquees had constructed a three-part space with designated areas and reveals for ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening disco. Hamish arrived with his best men while the groomsmen to checked the final details. Looking exceptionally dapper, buttonholes were attached. He then oversaw his groomsmen expertly arranging the flower petals down either side of the aisle and welcomed his guests.
The bar from A and D Mobile bar was at the end of the entrance corridor. Decorated with balloons containing white ostrich feathers it looked amazing. Everything was in place for this stunning Holme for Gardens wedding.
Holme For Gardens Wedding Ceremony Photos
The civil ceremony then took place by the wedding pavilion under the marquee. The pavilion had been decorated with Acer trees fresh from the garden center. The autumn reds and oranges of the leaves beautifully complimented the pastel blues of the surroundings. Hamish took his place at the front with his groomsmen. They awaited the arrival of the bride while the flower girls and bridesmaids waited outside.
Looking gorgeous Lindsey arrived escorted by her father in a classic two-tone VW van complete with wedding bunting and ribbon. Behind the drapes Tom could just see the bride through a gap in the curtain before she made here entrance. The guests were then asked to stand and the bridal party made their way down the aisle. It was a wonderful civil ceremony with two heartfelt readings. The couple made there promises to each other in the bright sunshine which now beamed though the transparent marquee roof.
Holme For Gardens Wedding Drinks Reception
After showering confetti the guests enjoyed drinks and canapés against the sunlit Holme for Garden’s orchards. While we stole the newlyweds for a walk around the gardens against the Autumnal colours we could hear a mixture of laughter and merry chatter.
Holme For Gardens Wedding Breakfast and Evening Entertainment
Lindsey’s father kicked off the side-splitting and eye-watering speeches shortly followed by Hamish and his two best men. Next the happy silence that descended on the room indicated that everyone was enjoying the wedding breakfast provided by Claret Catering.
With after-dinner coffees and fresh drinks to hand guests then gathered around the wedding cake to get pictures of the newlyweds ‘cutting the cake’.
Next the happy couple took their places on the dance floor for their fist dance as husband and wife. Music was provided by Mark Gerrard from Pegasus Disco (one of our recommended Dorset wedding suppliers). He had also been excellent as the wedding host for this Holme for Gardens wedding in Dorset.
Linsdsey and Hamish swirled about the dance floor for most of the first track and guests were soon encouraged to join them. As darkness finally crept overhead and the stars shone brightly the wedding guests merrily danced the night away.
You can see what Lyndsay and Hamish thought of our Dorset wedding photography services in their Holme for Gardens Wedding Photographers review.
