Bridal Preparation Photographs in Swanage Dorset
On a bright and sunny Saturday morning by the sea in our home town of Swanage Murray and I readied ourselves for Trudy and Jeremy’s Harmans Cross wedding photographs. I joined Trudy, her bridesmaids and flower girls at Fusion hairdressers. They were all calm, collected and enjoying the morning’s preparations.
Once the hairspray had set we headed back to Trudy’s house. Her gorgeous Ivory wedding dress hung next to the pastel multi coloured bridesmaids dresses in Green, blue, purple, yellow and pink. The two smaller flower girl dresses in purple were beautifully decorated with flowers. With wedding hair styled it was time to apply make up and curl eyelashes.
The pastel colours of the bridesmaids’ dresses were wonderfully echoed in the bouquets of countryside wedding flowers. As bubbly was sipped Trudy’s daughter Freya helped a younger flower girl with her hair. Trudy gave her bridesmaids gifts of necklaces and earrings and it was time for them to get into their pastel coloured bridesmaids dresses.
Behind closed doors Trudy stepped into her wedding dress, a classic ivory colour detailed with lace and diamantés. She emerged looking incredibly stunning to the gasps of her gathered bridesmaids.

It was a slightly later start for Murray. He met Jeremy at his parent’s house where he was getting ready with his mum and dad and also younger brother Simon. The chaps wore grey suits complete with waistcoats. Wedding tie in pastel colours matched the bridesmaid’s dresses. They topped the look off with lucky heather buttonholes. Once suited and booted they headed to the Crow Nest Inn to meet up with Jeremy’s older brother Adam for swift drink before heading to St Marys Church.
Church Wedding Photographs In Swanage, Dorset
Jeremy and his brother’s greeted the wedding guests as they arrived. Jeremy then waited at the front of the church as the bridesmaids and flower girls gathered outside in the sunshine and wind. Trudy and her father arrived in the jaw dropping black and white classical wedding car from Purbeck Wedding Car Hire.
Trudy was led into the church by her flower girls, page boys, matron of honour and bridesmaids. All now looking slightly nervous Jeremy waited at the front with his best men and brothers by his side. During the service there were smiles and laughter aplenty. The choir led the congregation in uplifting song and the sun beamed in through huge stained glass windows as the happy couple exchanged their vows. While the register was signed Trudy’s uncle treated the audience to a piece of classical violin music.
Wedding Steam Train Photographs in Swanage
After gathering outside to congratulate the newlyweds the guests made their way to Swanage Railway Station to board the steam train to Harmans cross. Trudy and Jeremy set off in their wedding car, stopping for some photos on Swanage beach front.
Harmans Cross Wedding Photographs of Drinks Reception
After our last Harmans Cross Village Hall wedding photographs we were excited to be returning to this versatile venue. Trudy and Jeremy arrived first a Harmans Cross Village Hall to see the room with decorations from Candleworld, food from Karla at Cherry Catering and wedding cakes from Ice Gems of Swanage. The guests arrived at Harmans cross station and made their way up the path through the steam to the hall. They enjoyed a drinks reception and wooden bar supplied by the Crow Nest Inn. There was even bouncy castle to keep the younger ones busy (and some of the older ones!). Before the speeches we stole the happy couple away briefly for some photos down by the train tracks.
Wedding Speeches at Harmans Cross Village Hall
Trudy’s father gave a brief speech followed by her uncle and then it was time for Jeremy and his brothers. Jeremy gave a heartfelt speech thanking everyone (not forgetting his new wife of course). Adam was followed by his younger brother Simon. He was quick to let everyone know that he was the youngest and best looking of the three brothers!
Wedding Breakfast Photographs at Harmans Cross Village Hall
After the speeches the wedding couple and their guests enjoyed a sumptuous High Tea style wedding breakfast. The newlyweds visited each table to cut the centrepiece cakes and talk to all of their guests.
Fairy lights and candles were lit as the sun dipped into the horizon. The wedding party enjoyed drinks in the wedding marquee outside. Once the hall had been turned around we were treated to an evening of DJing supplied by Paul Ballett from Muzik Mania Entertainments.
First Trudy and Jeremy took to the dance floor to execute their choreographed first dance. As they swirled together under the disco lights the drops, turns and swaying wowed the gathered crowd.
