Four Seasons Hampshire Wedding Photographs

As wedding photographers in Hampshire we knew Katie and Mike had a great taste in wedding venues. They chose the wedding venue of Netley Abbey for their  engagement shoot. They certainly impressed with their choices for their gorgeous wintery Hampshire wedding day at The Four Seasons Hotel in Hampshire.

A bright, crisp winter’s morning drive through the New Forest brought us up the sweeping driveway of the magnificent wedding venue – The Four Seasons Hotel in Dogmersfield, Hampshire.

In her gorgeous suite overlooking the Hampshire countryside Katie and her bridesmaids were busy gearing up into the bridal preparations. As hair and makeup were styled bridesmaids ran about the hotel fixing, fetching and organising. Lisa O’Rahilly- the Four Seasons wedding organiser was fantastic. She was always on the move organising several things at the same time with radio in hand.

Kate had chosen some gorgeous wedding flower arrangements. They beautifully complimented her simple yet sophisticated wedding dress and brought a subtle splash of colour to the gorgeous ivory detailing.

From the off, Kate and Mike had chosen to have a balance of tradition and personalisation in their wedding planning. They had organised their day to be just as they wanted it. If that meant that Kate’s son wanted to wear a kings costume, then he would! The cutest king to ever attend a wedding.

Kate’s flower girls looked like little angels with floral head dresses and sparkling wands. They escorted the King through the hotel to the awaiting wedding car.

Katie was helped into her dress and was looking even more breath-taking and decidedly calmer after the morning’s hubbub. As with every wedding morning it seemed to pass by in the blink of an eye. Before she knew it Katie was being driven across the country estate in her Bentley.

Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire Wedding Venue Photographs

The Four Seasons Hotel itself is a perfect wedding venue to photograph. The restored Georgian manor exudes luxury and natural light. There are few wedding venues in Hampshire like it.

As it was December the five star hotel had been stylishly decorated for Christmas. The largest Christmas tree I have ever seen rose throughout the wooden staircase. A gingerbread house, presents, wreaths and huge wicker trees and reindeer complimented the warmth and gentle cinnamon smells of the venue.

The restoration has been tastefully done with a natural transition through glazed walkways from a traditional English country home to a modern world class hotel and spa. This allowed a good amount of varied light to compliment the different settings within the building and the function rooms used for weddings.

The chaps on the other hand, had been busying themselves with their own wedding morning preparations at the local Winchfield Inn. They had been collecting children, organising flowers, donning suits. Of course the most important task, drinking nerve calming pints!

Hampshire Church Wedding Ceremony Photographs

Arriving at the small stone built All Saints Church in Dogmersfield Katie looked like a movie star stepping out of her wedding car. Shortly flanked by her beautiful bridesmaids, her angel flower girls and of course, the king!

The lovely wedding service was conducted by Katie and Mike’s vicar as well as All Saint’s. It contained some heart felt readings from family and friends. From our two different positions with the choir and at the rear of the church we were able to capture the ceremony perfectly. The laughter and the tears of joy all set against the back drop of the Christmassy village church.

The unseasonably fine weather allowed us to capture a few group shots outside the church. Next the wedding party returned in coaches to the hotel.

The wedding party arranged themselves at the foot of a candle lined staircase to greet the wedding guests. They moved along the line up as drinks and canapés were served. As the drinks reception grew in numbers a magician for the children and one for the adult guests arrived. They worked the crowd accompanied by ‘whooping’ noises of their impressed audience.

Much to the delight of the guests a travelling chest of fancy dress and Polaroid cameras put a twist on the standard guest book.

With enough time for a walk amongst the impressive wintery Hampshire gardens the wedding breakfast was called. Guests were seated in the ball room. It had been beautifully decorated with not one but two huge Christmas trees. A stage was set up with musical instruments. To the side sat a table of what looked like edible Christmas ball balls, flower arrangements and warm lighting. The table plan was based around the Christmas Carol ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’. One of the guests had sung a few verses to themselves their tables became apparent!

The hotel staff and servers were not only numerous but exceptionally well organised. Katie and Mike were announced into the room to a standing ovation. Again I had a little trouble holding in the laughter during the speeches. This not only had guests rolling the aisles but also weeping with tears of joy.

What happened next was a surprise for Mike, organised by Katie and only known by a few people. It turns out that Mike is somewhat of a Tom Jones fan. So out came Tom Jones (tribute), singing a cracking set of his favourite hits. The sight of Tom Jones and Mike singing on stage with all of the male wedding guests was highly entertaining. He looked like he might burst with joy.

Kate and Mike then twirled about the dance floor for their first dance. Before we knew it the guests were joining them and the wedding band entertained the dancing crowds for the rest of the evening.

Normally the story of a wedding day would end about here; however Katie still had a few aces up her sleeve. The band announced a break and guests exited to the patio. The hotel had organised a huge fireworks display over the fishing lake After ‘oohing’ and ‘aaahing’ they returned to a cheese buffet and more, drinking and much more dancing!
