Durdle Door Photo Shoot in Lulworth, Dorset
Kat and JP are one of the most relaxed and fun couples I have had the pleasure to work with. We met for their Durdle Door Photo shoot, on the Jurassic Coast near Lulworth in Dorset.
Whilst walking about the beach against the backdrop of this spectacular geological oddity we discussed their plans for Lulworth Castle wedding venue. Kat and JP’s wedding day has got me so excited that I want to keep the details a secret until we release their sneak peek. It’s almost a ‘If I told you, you wouldn’t believe me’ scenario! I can reveal that Lulworth Castle wedding venue will play host to a piper, a guitarist, tasty cocktails, a ceilidh and a rave!
I have to say that capturing the feel of JP and Kat as a couple was relatively easy. They are so fun-loving that randomly jumping into a fisherman’s boat down at Lulworth Cove came naturally to them. Re-enacting scenes from Titanic was par for the course!

Lulworth Cove Engagement Photographs
I am constantly blogging about how engagement photo shoots (especially a Durdle Door photo shoot) can help a couple relax in front of the camera on their wedding day. The trust that develops in the wedding photographers ability helps provide even more beautiful images. Well Kat and JP definitely have artistic tendencies. They needed no persuading into image concepts. They both could clearly see why a rusty door or white cliff face would make fantastic backdrops for images!
Lulworth Castle Engagement Photo Shoot
Photographing weddings all over the UK means that some years we don’t get to visit the stunning wedding venues that are just around the corner from our offices in Dorset. Lulworth Castle wedding venue is but a stone’s throw away. So it was a pleasure to take some engagement photos there in the summer sun. The early 17th-century mock castle was gutted by fire in 1929. It has been lovingly restored into a wedding venue and museum (and the location for Camp Bestival).
Surrounded by the stunning Lulworth Park and estate it is easy to see why Kat and JP chose Lulworth Castle wedding venue. They seemed very at home surrounded by the grand building and grounds.
We climbed one of the turrets to better see the surroundings and what a view it is up there. A breath-taking panoramic of the Jurassic coast. You could almost see where we had been for their Durdle Door photo shoot. The textures, lighting and detail inside the castle almost mirrors the visual majesty of the grand exterior and grounds. I can’t wait to incorporate it into what looks to be fun-filled wedding photography.
We loved working on Kat and JPs engagement photo shoot. you can see their Lulworth Castle Wedding Photographs here.
