Christchurch Harbour Hotel Wedding Photographs
It was with great pleasure that we were chosen to be the wedding photographers in Dorset to photograph Julia and Paul’s Christchurch Harbour Hotel wedding. You may remember this fun loving couple from their Christchurch Harbour Hotel engagement photographs.
Christchurch Harbour Hotel Wedding Bridal Preparation Photos
I joined Julia and the girl’s during their wedding morning preparations in the hotel’s luxurious bridal suite.
Now the restored regency hotel and wedding venue contains so many beautiful details and features. Nowhere more than in the bridal suite. Julia’s beautiful wedding dress hung above the four poster bed. Aclaw footed roll top bath sat under the window with views across Hengistbury Head and Christchurch harbour.
Julia and the girls were in a particularly jovial mood. With the appearance of the sun and bucks fizz they turned up the music and proceeded with wedding hair and makeup styling.
Julia’s wedding flowers arrived, a lovely choice, their beautiful pastel colours complimenting not only the ladies dresses but those of the room. Next wedding hair was curled and straightened, wedding makeup applied and dresses put on.
After trying out the bath for size with a couple of champagne bottles I left the girls to dress. I couldn’t help popping downstairs to take a look at the wedding ceremony room.
The large, light space had been beautifully prepared. Rows of covered seats lined the aisle with ceramic love heart lanterns. Stunning long ruffled chair sashes were styled by ELM Chocolates & Cakes.
Back in the bridal suite Julia was helped into her wonderfully detailed wedding dress and looked simply stunning.
Meanwhile Paul and the chaps were having their own busy morning. They had been drive from their hotel in The Best Man’s type two VW campervan ‘Desmond’. As the sun came out they stopped for a few group shots outside the hotel before having a pint of ‘Dutch courage’ at the bar.
As the wedding guests filled the ceremony room the girls applied final touches to wedding hair and make up.

With a slightly nervous looking Paul , the guests the enjoyed soft music and Julia entered her perfect wedding ceremony.
Silhouetted against the large bright windows Julia and Paul exchanged their vows and a friend gave a lovely reading.

The newly-weds then exited to the drinks reception in the Hotel’s exceptionally comfortable sitting room. Drinks and canapés were served as a couple of magicians shocked and entertained guests.
We snook off for 15 minutes with Julia, Paul, his best man and Desmond to Mudeford beach and its wooden beach huts. Again Julia and Paul were so naturally relaxed in front of the camera, so very happy and so obviously in love.
The ceremony room had been turned around for the wedding breakfast. Each circular table adorned with birdcage centrepieces filled with pastel flowers and candles.

As the sun setting outside Julia and Paul greeted their guests into the wedding breakfast. When they settled into their meal the volume of happy noise reflected their approval of both food and venue.
The speeches had the guests rolling in the aisles and included a never seen before best man wearing horses ears!
Christchurch Harbour Hotel Wedding Evening Photographs
After cutting the cake the wedding moved to event room beneath the hotel. The subtly lit room with bar, seating and a dance floor filled with evening guests. In the corner sat a table full of sweets. Not surprisingly it wasn’t long before the younger guests had surrounded it.
The three-piece band struck up to play for the happy couple’s first dance and the dancing for the rest of the evening.
