Bournemouth Wedding Dress Photographs on a Winter’s Day
Recently I found myself gazing out to sea talking ‘shop’ with inspiring Russian fashion photographer Anna Radchenko. We were discussing our admiration for each others work and shared a love of different photographic styles and techniques. We had a mutual passion for natural light, emotive textures and scenes. As fate dictated we decided it would be a great idea to collaborate on some Bournemouth Wedding dress photographs.
Unfortunately Anna was returning to Russia in a less than two weeks. The creative brief we constructed bordered on the impossible. Two models, assistants, a make up artist, two distinctly different designer wedding dresses and a series of locations in Bournemouth. We wanted to utilise the texture, colour and pattern in an evocative manner. The timing meant we had to shoot within a four-hour time frame on a dry, bright day in December! Simple!
With a flurry of organisation, location scouting, phone calls and monitoring of the forecast the shoot was a complete success. We chose an area around Bournemouth pier that contained a church and graveyard. The woodland and graveyard had a slightly eery feel. The wooden supports of Bournemouth pier provided incredibly deep colour and tone.
Anna and I worked together harmoniously, producing a stunning set of photos. My dream-like, slightly ethereal images wonderfully contrasted Anna’s. Her darker, beautifully surreal photographs are nothing short of gorgeous.
The Hellebore dress and Palvinder dress were kindly supplied by the exceptionally talented Joanne Fleming Design. Her eloquent words better describe the photographs than I in her blog.
Many thanks to our gorgeous models for their patience in the cold. Many big warm hugs to the make up artist extraordinaire Nadine Turner.
