Beach Theme Wedding Photographs at Sandbanks Hotel, Dorset
When we first met Alison and Richard they told us that they were planning a beach theme wedding and for this they had the perfect location.
Their choice of the stunning Sandbanks Hotel meant that much of their beautiful wedding day was spent either overlooking or on the fine yellow sand of Sandbanks beach - perfect.

Meeting Alison and her bridesmaids on the beach theme wedding morning was the first time that I have seen a chap preparing for the day ahead with the girls. After a rib tickling try on of his bridesmaid dress Alison’s ‘Bridesman’ donned his suit and the hair and makeup artists worked their magic on the girls.
Alison had chosen a balcony room, overlooking Poole harbour to prepare for the beach theme wedding. The view and the champagne made for a wonderfully relaxing morning.
Downstairs the Sandbanks Hotel’s ‘Compass Room’ had been beautifully dressed with shells, boats, seagulls and a surprise for the guests. Each table had a huge glass center piece filled with sweets.
Meanwhile Richard the groom and his best man added some Scottish flavour to the day by donning their kilts and sporrans and popped to the pub before the ceremony to calm their nerves.
The Sandbanks hotel provides a lovely beach theme wedding ceremony with guests overlooking the beach, on this occasion with the added backdrop of Pool regatta boats racing on the sea.
The drinks reception and canopies took the guests (and sunshine) out onto the sun terrace literally over the beach After Alison and Richard had properly greeted their guests we walked along the beach for some group photographs.
Now a good example of how fun-loving this pair are is captured in the photographs we took next. Not only did they want a few images of them alone on the beach but Alison also managed to borrow a nearby Kitesurfer’s board for some surfing shots. They decided to go for a paddle in the sea, still in wedding dress and suit!
The surprises for guests didn’t end there. The beach theme wedding cake was an incredibly realistic sandcastle (fitted with miniature windmills) surrounded by cupcakes. A hilarious raffle of beach themed prizes (i had my eye on the driftwood) took place in-between courses of the wedding breakfast. This truly was a fun packed day.
After a break in the bar and the photo-booth, the Compass Room was transformed into a dance floor and the newlyweds took their first dance. Just as soon as the song finished family and friends had joined them on the dance floor and we later left them all showing off their finest dance moves.
